Same here, I don't want to tell him to kiss off though but would like to point him in a direction that actually makes some sense which is why I asked. Phillips Silver Stars are the only thing I am currently comfortable with pointing him to. I will add that unlike other asshats who want to do this I understand his motivation. He wants his baby daughter to be seen more. Bright shit will do that.
  2. REALLY, REALLY stupid to pick a power and then want to run it "daily". You could just run 2k and NOT EVEN HEAR ANY DIFFERENCE AT ALL from 3k. In fact you'd never know. Or you could run something more efficient on even less power and be as loud or louder. For a non-competition the only reason to run 3kW is to compensate for a lack of manhood so you can tell your so called friends that you are cool and have 3kW. In the future make a real thread with goals and a direction or just don't make one.

Customer asked me for Xenon help for his daughters 2000 A4. Not my thing, but I don't want to be antagonistic as well he's a customer. Where should I point him?

I'm surprised I still had 4 boxes left over after it was all said and done...just the bare essentials at this point can't wait to get this glassware and dishes out...fucking hate them... Ha, you have 4 boxes of kitchen stuff and I have more than 4 boxes of wine glasses. that is entirely too much stemware we bought the dishes and glassware like 75% off or so at Bed, Bath & Bullshit many many years ago, I'm done with 'em...too fucking heavy and they chip/crack too easy...I've already lost 1 plate and 2 glasses Not at all. Have 18 Cabernet glasses that I consider dishwasher safe (ie cheap crystal) for when the family comes, 6 real nice crystal cab glasses for when we have special company, 2 really nice crystal cab glasses just for ourselves, a pair of burgundy glasses, a pair of barbera glasses, a dozen champagne flutes, 12 dishwasher white wine glasses, 2 nice chardonnay glasses, a decanter for white and one for red, 4 pilsener glasses, a water pitcher, and a bottle holder. Pretty much fills up a cabinet and they all get used.
  7. Yes, because it will sound better. All sorts of reasons why multiple sets are bad and not really any on the opposite.

Why are you a Port Whore? I like large gaping holes in enclosures I follow Vance Dickasons enclosure formulas, which disproved the 12-162" rule of thumb pretty darn often, I hate that rule, lol Rule #1, there are NO rules of thumb. Well what do ya suppose about a rule of wrist? J If you have particularly strong wrists you probably need a new woman

Expand plz? Its ugly, its little, no space, and it isn't comfortable. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of a mid-engine car but not particular a P car.

Yes, Dealers and the various Aftermarket warranties make arrangements together...and they set-up 'what' is actually covered, the circumstances of the part or service covered, and they keep prior services records on the vehicle in question as well. The dealership itself gets 'kick-backs' from the warranty policies that they do sell. So, the prices could be very well higher there...than anywhere else. Usually shopping around would be the best recommendation that I could honestly give at this point. I have worked for Ryan, AION, and a few others as a claims adjuster. Basically, I would inspect the higher dollar value claims the vehicles themselves, parts and prior service/maintenance records. I did have to go to some dealerships on a regular basis since they would try to scam the warranty companies...but they also do the same as well to the dealerships. Many times, I would be instructed to deny coverage for claims where the owner had no viable service or maintenance record. Yeah, sometimes it was not a very reputable job, and hence why I don't work in that area in the automotive industry anymore I would suggest finding one outside the dealership, but at the same time....make sure their warranties are honored by other shops...since these aftermarket companies are notorious for denying claims...which ends end in a customer pay....which puts the shop in a bad situation dealing with a furious customer...hence why they don't honor some aftermarket warranty groups. Find any maintenance and service record that you can find on the vehicle, and then KEEP very good records of Everything....even oil and other fluid changes as well as any part changed. (make sure that this part or fluid DOES NOT deviate from any factory specification at all) Also, Be aware that the Aftermarket warranty company inspects the vehicle for any type of modifications different from Factory specifications such as...rims, tire size, and engine/transmission/exhaust/electrical modifications...as well as aftermarket tow hitches...and to what class. Research and read over the policy thoroughly to see what covered, the circumstances...and the deductible if any. Usually they try to roll you into a more expensive coverage...thinking everything is OK....then you have to pay for a dealer to 'turn -off" a check engine light...since that would be considered a diagnostic fee (which is not covered)...and the engine sensor would be covered (sometimes) IF that sensor is included in the power train coverage I can review a one for you if you want...but would need all the information. Also, researching the company too...make sure that there are not too many furious customers out there posting on the internet Thanks for the big reply. Curious as to where you shop around. The local yellow pages is worthless, the internet is worthless (you get 10,000 hits and none of them are clear), I find positive references on forums on companies like Fidelity, but on their site they reference to buy from a dealer. Ugh.

Its all in the install. You fuck that up, you lose. His stuff sucks, but a shitty speaker in a great install beats a great speaker in a shitty install EVERYDAY.

So for work whatever I buy needs to be warrantied. Considering I am shopping for cars that will not be under factory warranty for the whole time my lease would exist this means buying an aftermarket warranty. Besides the dealerships (which I have called already ) where else would you look for a warranty? I have tried the appropriate model forums, but that is sort of like searching for SPL on here and not very effective. Year One and Fidelity have come up many times as aftermarket choices, but of course I have the balance to deal with. The more $$ the warranty is the less $$ I can spend on the car. If I didn't have to have it I wouldn't, but not my choice. Part of me wants to start a company and offer one to my company therefore mitigating the risk off of them and onto me, but that is probably more work than it is worth. That being said, I'd love to not pay the dealer price on the warranty as it may really improve what I can afford. Any ideas?

So it's not a Ferrari. Indeed, because that would be "Fucking Red!!!"
  18. Well, now that time has gone by they have beat most all of the other high(er) dollar equipment, and took 8 awards and two world titles home from Finals, and all without a piece of time alignment nor processing to make them perform perfectly. All of these guys systems are running less than 5000 or 6000 dollar systems and beating systems that cost 6 to 12 times that much to build. I think that says plenty about the quality of speaker you are buying and that the price is not too high. Team Linear / Blues did not make this comment ... Please do not bash us ... We are letting the equipment speak for it self ... Thank you people that have heard our systems for giving us your oppinions ... Neither Impious or I bashed anything other than the people who claim that the stuff that wins a competition is the best. That comment is absurd. As for letting the equipment speak for itself, I gave you the right way to do that here:

Making an offer on a car tomorrow, but am sure they will say no. And no, not sharing until I get a yes & it checks out. Happens to be in a city where I have some employees and one of them is a car guy so he is checking it out for me. Major win if they say yes, but I really doubt it. And again NO, you can't know what it is until I have an answer.

  23. Well put. Terrible mechanism for testing speakers IMO. A Klippel, Laser Vibrometer and a true measurement mic in an anechoic space are FAR, FAR better for testing. And anyone who argues differently is drinking marketing koolaid and/or completely clueless.
  24. Get rid of the 4x6's and use one set of components. It will solve your problem and greatly improve your sound.
  25. Both of these are untrue. They are not made for fart boxes in the least, they are just cheaper form of DD. And as long as the box is correct, the AQ's can get just as low as the DC's in every way. And I would dare say if you got the Aluminum coil AQ's, they would take much more abuse then the DC Lv4s would. Edit: My typing fail. Obviously your idea of a fart box and mine are HUGELY different. Even in a real box the AQ's sounded like turds to me. Of course you sort of say the same thing, cheaper version of the DD.
