2v is more than fine. You basically never use more than that even on the old Eclipse units that had 8v. On top of that what do you think the gain knob is for on the amp? Higher than 2v is NOT necessary. The problem with the 900 is that it will not control the H701 for an active setup. You have to go to an older Alpine screen to do that. At the same time as far as I know there are no other screens that control off board processors that will really let you do that anyways. I'd lean on an older 505 and get an H701 to go with it.

If you just add a woofer you will be replacing everything soon. You need to take a step back and really think about your goals. Having and using a lot of power is NOT a goal...unless you are an idiot or are lacking in manhood and need to brag about something. Having enough power and subwoofer to get to the volume you want is a complete different story.

If your need was truly eq the 105 doesn't really have one that helps. Obviously that wasn't your problem though

Any recommendations? I've got an Alpine DVA-9860 & H701 I'd sell ya And the H701 is one of the only choices I'd recommend for this application. There are others, but the integration requires a processor and having one that has control UP FRONT is HUGELY important. The EQX is a complete joke in comparison.
