  1. No "audible" distortion is WAY over what the power specifications of the amplifier are set at which is exactly why they may or may not be under rated. You do see how big a flaw that is right? You cite 0.07% above for distortion and then its rated power. Obviously if you cranked that up to 5% the power numbers will scream upwards as well so then it becomes what is audible to you... If your goal is to do testing and promote your site you really should do it in a way that is at least is scientific and something you can defend. I also think that the argument for using a speaker as a load is a crock. Sure it is real world for the setup that YOU have, but not for anyone else. It will also bias the test results once you start to mix it up with other amplifiers. And please stop citing numbers a digits that are WAY beyond the uncertainty in your measurement devices. There is a reason that in rudimentary Physics one of the first things they teach you is about significant digits.

Looks more too sugary than too rich.
  3. Your tests are bogus. Great amps, but that statement is not backed up by ANY science. wattage = voltage squared divided by resistance. where is the error there? Its ohms law, not mine. Science requires more than an equation but a methodology that is repeatable, reproducible, and accurate. From all I can tell you didn't use a calibrated load, you didn't measure distortion (so therefore the value you measured is arbitrary), and you probably don't even have an accurate way of measuring either voltage or current. For sure, it isn't accurate enough to report the digits you reported. So indeed, there is absolutely no science behind your statement. Not knocking the amps, nor did this have to happen in your for sale thread but you failed to respond in your review thread so I have no choice. Sure looks like your review was just a mechanism to sell your amps by inflating their worth by misrepresenting their power. Really not necessary since they are great amps.
  4. I didn't think so, going to add nearly $1k in processing then...

  6. If it sounds to be too good to be true...
  7. Interested in what you used for a consistent load as well as how you measured the current and distortion.
  8. Does the Tview actually have a 5.1 surround outputs? That would require at least 6 RCA's. L, C, R, LR, RR, & Sub. If not, you are going to nearly need to put your whole budget just into a processor. I'd then ask the question how often you listen to music encoded in 5.1 or how many movies you will truly watch in your car. My guess is that it won't be much music as it is very rarely sold in surround sound form and as for movies, not sure why you'd subject yourself to sitting in your car to do that. That being said, 2 kick ass front speakers and an amp would leave plenty of budget to truly make sure they are installed correctly and will outperform the surround layout anyways.

Your other option to make it fool proof is to smoke them as you do. After you pull them off, wrap in tinfoil, and pour some braising liquid into the tinfoil. Bake at 250 for a couple more hours. If you are in a rush you could do this portion hotter, but extra heat is never really your friend. 325 for one ought to finish anything. I say ought as I'll always pick slow. The bark experience isn't the same, but the lip smacking is at least as good.

The temperature on the Traeger could very well be hottest near the temperature gauge. My temp is at the grates where the meat is. I suspect yours is off for that reason. If it were ceramic or held the heat better than steel it may be different. On top of that, I bet the temp gauge is a piece of uncalibrated crap. Sure was on my barrel smoker. Might very well be your trouble. And yes, I am sure that mine is right, well at least within 2 degrees which I'll call right. 15-20 I would not. Do they gasket mod the Traegers? If so, I'd do it. The more you make it convection the more even it will be. Otherwise you'll always be chasing hot/cold spots in it.

Restaurants regularly boil their ribs first to make them fall off. Complete way to ruin ribs IMO. Here they if they say slow roasting it means that they are doing it with gas. 8 hours would allow you to use a very low oven temperature, perhaps even below 200F. Personally, on a rack of ribs, I like the texture from ones done warmer. I normally Q mine at 225F which makes them take around 4 hours. I put them in cold. The BBQ is the only place I start with non-room temperature proteins. When cooking slow it is okay and when using smoke it will absorb it better while the meat is still cold.

Next time, drive to LC's in KC. Long drive to eat in a little shithole, but worth it. Arthur Bryant's is fancier but they don't hold shit on LC's.

Smoking WILL do that, just has to be the right temperature and right time. Amusingly, I smoked a couple racks for dinner tonight. I pulled mine off before they got that sloppy as I like to have to pull them off the bone with my teeth, half the fun of ribs. They should pull easily though Try 225 for 4 hours. Longer is okay, but then lower the temperature.

si senor If it isn't important it isn't significant. Amazing how this is lost in reality though. Reporting beyond the uncertainty is also jackwash

Please try a different translation. Biscuit and cake are not so similar here in the US. A biscuit is something that is hardly mixed and rises and is rarely if ever sweet. Cake is self explanatory. I never translate. http://www.google.com/images?num=10&hl=en&safe=off&q=biscuit+cake&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=980&bih=501 Sorry, never heard of it.

God is that Lexus ugly. Personally I'd grab the Lambo, but mostly so I could put snow tires on it and fuck with people here in Minny.

Definitely, who the fuck steals a PT Cruiser?
  21. What features do you need in an eq? Well the line out off a stock deck isnt exactly desirable. Looking into the alpine pxe-h660, looks ten times easier to use than my old eq hahaha. So basically the standard eq features, I dont know how else to explain it other than needing an eq to increase or decrease certain frequencies that lack. The last Audi deck I looked at had a dead nuts flat output, unless they've changed they equalize in the amps. EQ's should really never be used for increasing, only for cutting anomalies. The pxe-660 auto function doesn't work for shit IMO. The other major item here is that if you don't know what you need the eq for, you should really not buy one. If you have some issues in your car it is a completely different story, but I'd make sure I know what they are so that I can fix them when I spend money. My guess here that most of your problems are install related and spending some time/money to tighten that up would help more than anything.
  22. ...made that list. Holy crap Looks like a misapplied boner list to me.

  24. Wow, the competing near you must be like taking candy from a baby Trial and error is only for fine tuning IMO, physics will dictate the rest. I would never arbitrarily build a box with an ultra long port and trim it. Problem is "guessing" and "guessing" equals NO CLUE on how long the port should be. -packing peanuts -rice -sand -water are all fine mediums for measure. Just make sure your glass is dry so stuff doesn't stick to it like hell. Obviously if you have no exposed wood, the water method is the easiest.
