  1. Your faith is misconstrued. 4x6's are pretty much terrible across the board.
  2. I literally LOL'd. Compared to lots of things and even to things at half the price they lose big time.

    Here, I'll share virtually.
  4. If it is truly sealed, what are you deadening? If it is for the sake of reducing structure borne noise, then do things as you would on any other panel. But before having this discussion I would rethink your sealed pods. Sounds to me like you are going to choke the heck out of those drivers.
  5. The DC160 are an 8 ohm driver rated at 50 wrms. For the 18 bucks they costed me they really can't be beaten. What are you running for your tweets because that plays a major role in chosing which midbass driver would best suite your needs. The DC160 isn't exactly what I would call a midbass driver.

I get off at 5, I'll bring the Surley. I'll be near DL by then I hope.

If it weren't raining I'd love to go and whack out 8mi. The Viking/Stoker made it through the night and rain with a couple big ole pork butts cookin' though

<-- immune to caffeine So I won't be sending any energy, but I'll try nonetheless
  9. I know, right after I posted I realized that I too would like to hear the answer to your question. Hopefully it still comes

Nope, just didn't have anything to say and hadn't had a coffee yet. Classic morning comment from me.
  11. Whenever you apply a bandaid it is best to understand the cause of the wound first. Without application it is crazy to discuss anything. Obviously there is no end all and that piece is a big joke.
  12. Why not solve the whole problem and scrap the 4x6's as well?

    Nice headunit
  15. Measuring power won't let you do that. You can see everything that you need to in Voltage, no need for current.
  16. I am actually just amused. Have you heard any studio monitors? Did you actually like them? If so, which ones were they? Now reflect on their acoustic signature and think real close to how the Focals sounded. If you don't realize there is a difference, go and try again. They are FAR from similar. I'd also like to know where in ANY studio playing 2 chn recordings you have seen rear speakers. At the same time let me know where you've seen a pair of studio monitors that had more than one tweeter each. Your plan so far has NOTHING to do with matching studio monitor performance, but I am not so sure that is what you want anyways.
  17. errr, sort of, sounds like you almost understand the right use but it isn't at all based on preference but mechanical limitations of your driver. 10 minutes with any decent modeling software will help you understand this. Maybe you should just say that you have no idea how to use software, don't understand what the parameters actually mean and are just making up stuff based on limited experience. Just like the woofer is dumb and will only do what you tell, the same holds for the software. If you don't understand what you are inputting and do something incorrectly the results will of course also be incorrect.

I need to bike, will it not rain for a little?
  19. DON'T buy an Fmod, they are not the right solution.

Does howdy doody have wooden balls?
  21. NEVER ask about which sub without giving EXACTLY how much space you have for a box. The previous owner may have had 4 MT's but perhaps he was a complete dipshit and had them in WAY too small of an enclosure. I would run a Hifonics if someone gave one to me.

The Rockford Fosgate amp you have in your pictures
  23. And even then it will be very far from being accurate. You cannot measure power without measuring distortion.
  24. Not if you need to use the active filters as well. Most will only bandpass the MB or "rear" outputs. They will usually have a limitation for how low they can go in frequency and for what frequencies. I would guess you'd have a 31.5 and a 40Hz HP on the midbass channel (which could be used for the sub) and then just use the tweeter HP for the mids. Better check the levels for the tweet that it will HP low enough (ie 60/80/100Hz or whatever). So really, the answer is no it would be far from ideal to use it for that but potentially if your needs were simple it is possible. I am not sure on the 9887 as I haven't owned a BEP Alpine in 10 years, but definitely not on the Pio or Eclipse units.
  25. And he is a complete moron so anything he says should be completely ignored. I've met 10 year olds that have more stereo knowledge than he does.
