As far as I know the audio shop in town has a real setup and competitions on the reg. Never been there so I don't know there setup I severely doubt they have a "real" mic. Not many people are willing to pay for what would truly be required to measure in a calibrated fashion and even if they do, they don't know how to use it.

Everyone claims that all sorts of budget amps "do power" as well and I guarantee when tested appropriately they would fail. I can easily "clamp" a piece of shit and make it output more than it is rated if I don't bother with a distortion measurement.
