  1. Umm, yes you can hear (if you are really, really lucky from 20Hz to 20kHz, in reality more like 25hz - 15kHz if you are over 25, but either way. I asked what songs you think there are these notes that are under 32Hz as you won't find many. Since you seem to know about low frequencies I was wondering what songs these were.
  2. Welcome. Definitely interested in what you are working on. Sounds like fun.

A big ass CO2 tank from a welding supply store. Okay, not big ass for them, but for me. It is in my basement although it "could" fit under the sink. Instead I ran copper tube up from downstairs to under the sink. To make 1.5L I use about $0.005 - 0.01 worth of CO2...or at least I estimate. $17 refill has lasted over a year already and still has a lot left.

    Is that Lord Baccus?
  6. IMO that is a waste of an eq. If there is nothing to fix there is nothing you need to control better. Plain and simple. On the other hand if you have issues with your response an eq can be a godsend. Without knowing what you want to address it won't be possible to recommend an eq. BTW, 25,30,45 won't really do you any better than 32 & 60. An adjustable Q & selectable single frequency eq would go much further towards helping than adding a band to the two you have. Well basically what i want is for the sub to play frequencies up to say 65 hz, but not as loud as they are now. so i want more control over the "boost" i guess. i know i can set the low pass filter and all that good stuff. but it doesnt give much control. I want to have say all frequencies from 50-65 hz to be at like -3 db then have the rolloff be at 65. not sure if im frasing this correctly or not. but if i set the 60 hz freq (with the 60 and 32 EQ) to like -3 then then it effects the 45 hz frequencies and all that, makes a slope of negative for a while, further than i want. and i want to do the same thing for lower notes as well. i wish to be able to boost or negative boost where needed. I have an oscope and know how to use it. just kind of wondering if there is such a thing out there. now you said selctable single frequencies, what do those do? sounds like what i want... Much better. Now what part of that doesn't it do now?
  7. I don't. Could care less about it. I want my shit to sound great, that is the most important thing to me. Doesn't mean I didn't go through the I want to be loud stage, but I grew out of that one. That's Funny, I Like My Shit To Make A Big Great "Kerplunk" Sound In The Toilet. Don't Ever Doubt 1 18" Inch Sub, I've Seen 8"s Get Louder Than Most L7's. (Most, As In Car Audio Newbies And Retarded Mainstream Fanboys.) The Real Problem Is Your Amp. when i said i wanted to be loud, i mean it like i wanna be loud but still sound really good.... not just loud and alll bass.... Then you'd be worried about the fronts and not so much the sub.

Do you have a carbonater how to? Me and my wife go through a liter a day or so. It sucks going to whole foods all the time. I can make one, but if you want it that sounds more like a home project than a car project. Going to require an investment of about $150, maybe a tad more, but I figure that I paid for it in the first 3 months.

Thanks . I was wondering what kind of marinade I should use. You just use salt? That's easy enough. I'm a bit worried about trying anything fancy since some new friends are coming over and I don't know their tastes, plus I'm not sure how the grill will act so I kinda want to keep it simple for starters. But I love bbq sauce so I'm sure i'll spread some of that on there towards the end of cooking. No marinade, they are ribs Brine is basically some form of salt and some form of sugar. I am not one for measuring so much, but if you ask nice and tell me what size vessel I could give you some idea. As for the rub, salt is part of it. I also like things like: paprika, brown sugar, red chiles (dried & ground), garlic, pepper, mustard, cumin, cayenne, onion, thyme, sage Most important are: brown sugar, garlic, paprika, and chili (not american chili powder please) And obviously Kosher salt. I prefer to make my rubs salt free so I can control the salt.

Definitely smoke. And those recipes you have are jacked. Meat doesn't pick up smoke very well unless it is cold. You always smoke first, add heat later. I'd do them flat out at 220F. Give them 6 hours of time. If they are done in 4 no worries, if they aren't you have time to finish them. Check them at 3 and if they are starting to separate from the bone shut the temp down. When it gets to 140, take them out and hold them at 140 in the oven covered with foil until you eat. If they aren't coming off you can turn the temp up to medium to finish them. Personally I'd brine them the night before, and rub them before plopping them on the smoker. Yummy!
  12. No it's haste. Wait 24 hours and you won't have that issue. A ported box is a 4th order by the way, I said no 4th order bandpass. As for why not. 1) you don't have a saw, 2) your first design will need to be re-done, 3) you don't understand them well enough to design one, 4) there is no benefit for your needs (I can think of one, but if it isn't the reason you are doing this then you shouldn't) Either way, a MUCH better question is why would you build a BP. I still think you are wasting money buying 6.5's as well. They aren't the right choice for the future or now. Buy something used that you can sell when you are done instead.
  13. Scotchgard won't do anything. A little water basically destroys a box. Coating it in fiberglass BEFORE getting it wet will solve this issue. The easiest way for you to fix it would be to put another layer on top. It isn't fun to pull carpeting though

If you get babies, I'd do a rack per person. Spares 2-3 racks should be fine. You want to cook them as slow as possible. 4 hours would be minimum, but to make them take that long they have to cook S L O W. Not so sure your grill can do that on any setting. What do you have?

  17. NEVER blame the drivers, always blame the install. Most people SUCK at installing anything. That being said, I personally have NO interest in the 9500 as it fits a niche that I don't partake in and doesn't do anything well that I'd need it to.
  18. IMO that is a waste of an eq. If there is nothing to fix there is nothing you need to control better. Plain and simple. 19. Take more time before you hit "add reply" You really, really, really SHOULDN'T build a 4th order bandpass. I would also again encourage you to use a single driver, it will work out better and later on down the road you can sell it and buy whatever you need instead of ending up with 6 extra drivers you won't use that aren't very saleable.
  20. Front stage >>>> subwoofer In particular for your application. Lots of ways to improve it. I'd MUCH, MUCH rather have a kick ass front stage and no sub, than the opposite.

Close, 5.65, which amusingly is the same pH as rain water...if I can read.

There are places to camp that don't?? All state parks, pretty much. I want to go somewhere with some cool sites and allows beer. Seems you get one or the other.... They don't actually check that at state parks there do they?
