And you've proved over and over that your opinions are dubious and now you are giving it on something you have no experience on...perfect

Breaking Up Hurts
How is it a rude thread? If someone has a sign on their front door that says please take off your shoes and you go into your house with your shoes on it is rude. If they then ask you to take them off and you don't it is super rude. If at that point you proceed to argue about it you are an asshole IMO. Read the T&C's of the site that YOU agreed to when you joined and you will see that you ignored them. Then when they were brought up you got aggressive towards the person bringing them up. And yes my analogy is spot on. Just because it is the internet doesn't mean that this isn't the whole mod teams house.

Breaking Up Hurts
As for the rude comment. It is SUPER simple. You made a rude thread, it gets a rude reply. Follow the forum parameters and there wouldn't be an issue, by not doing so you are basically saying you don't give a fuck about our rules. Really bad way to expect a good reply. Look at my replies in threads that do follow and you will understand.

Breaking Up Hurts
Funny. Actually I don't pay attention. I work damn near 80hours a week as a Director of Sales for a high tech company, am a hell of a lot younger than 45, and this is how I unwind. Everyone needs a way to relax and this is how I do it. If it weren't for this forum, I'd probably be an alcoholic. People aren't allowed to post whatever they want here, it has to follow the terms and conditions that you agreed to when you joined. This topic didn't and you are complaining about it. Do it again and get a vacation.

Had a car audio shop tell me JL amps were better than sundown
I don't know about that. Sort of the last hurrah for PG. The 200.4 can find a place in my cars at ANY time and I'll be happy. As to the OP, it comes down to your needs. The JL's are power hogs, not overly impressive in output, but are the most flexible amps on the market. Are they overpriced? IMO all new amps are as you win when you buy something used that was quality to begin with. yes I run the JL's, but you'd also crap if you knew what I paid for them.

I am also interested in hearing the Discovery, but it will be a couple months before I drive by Madisound again.

SSD or BL, the Q isn't for you. Ignore the Xmax spec as in your application that won't be a concern.

Real SQ tracks, do they exist anymore?? Non mp3 files.
One thing about those "some" people. They all have NOT done a blind A/B test otherwise they wouldn't come to that conclusion

Phatmat Vs. Dynomat & Other Brands
Just out of curiosity, did you go to the SDS website and read his writeup's? If so, re-read it again. After the read, just buy direct from SDS. Better product, better service, and better results for the money. *I'll also add that it is best to ignore sadistic's comments as they are never based in reality

Building Passive Crossovers
x2 So aside from them being nick named "The screamer", are they crap??? I have never had a problem with em. I've never heard them, never will, and either way it doesn't matter if YOU like them.

Breaking Up Hurts
Goes to show the quality of your topics. I hadn't noticed as I surely don't keep track of who is who in what threads I reply to.
-
Building Passive Crossovers
Lol, nope. And why would anyone ever want anything called "the screamer". That cracks me up.

Welcome to the IHoP
And I will add that I can cook in almost any scenario, but trying with a poor knife kills me quick. I wouldn't consider the Cutco's poor when they are sharp, but they can't hold an edge and are extremely high maintenance. They never really get "sharp" either.
-
Welcome to the IHoP
The ones that fit in your hands the best. NEVER buy a knife set, they NEVER, EVER work best for you. Do buy something with real metal in them though. At least Wusthoff quality IMO. Does Sean like Cutco knives? No, and I have a lot of experience with them as I have a set. I use them for when I want to cut something that a good blade should never touch. They are made with cheap steel and don't keep a good edge for shit. ***I love the serrated one for cutting carpet though, saved my ass one day. Hmmmmmm never had an issue.........ever get them sharpened? They hit a ceramic everytime they get used and NEED a stone WAY more than any knife I have ever owned. I got them free so I use them for cutting things now that I shouldn't be cutting with my good steel.

Help with speaker selection for a 3-way setup.
That's a great mid. The Scan 12m is my favorite 4", but it breaks the bank. In the 3's I'd add the Fountek FR88 & Fostex FF85k.

First HT "project"
Home theater and music have different goals. For HT you normally tune your box in the teens and significantly higher for music. You need to figure out which way you'd compromise. Then we can help

How you can you be such a sally just because you weren't invited. Not impressive. Surely isn't going to make people want to invite you to anything else.

Not audible, but why run a piece of mediocre electronics when a better one is the other option?

All of your midbass options are intriguing. Inconveniently I haven't held the HiVi or CSS in my hands before. Installation will make the biggest difference unless you need it to extend higher than the driver can. The midrange is really what I'd focus my choices on, you state you can't do a large format tweet but with a decent 3 or 4" mid it wouldn't be necessary anyways. I'd seriously focus on narrowing that down and while I really like your midbass choices I don't like your midrange choice so far. I'd spend some time balancing the differences based on Zaph's reviews as they are about the most complete for that range of driver. I'd narrow it down and then buy a couple and listen to decide. The extra money you spend doing this you can easily save on the tweeter
