It started out as a haunt at the local bike club and has grown into an addiction or sickness. We just recently bought some of these http://jumpingstilts.com/jumping-stilts/extreme-sports/?gclid=CMSSs4Dh3Z4CFU1M5Qod1XNWLA I just don't want to break my neck! Those look like a hell of a lot of fun! Just add a Tigger costume

One of the owners and own is the same thing, especially when there are only 5 of you. I figured from all the effort you put into it, but hadn't asked before.
  3. Gains are really a bit independent here. Dynamic capability is what is important. Pretend you put a sine wave in (which I know doesn't have a crest factor, but it may be confusing for readers to talk about gain setting with dynamic music) the overall output of the amp would be 10w. It wouldn't matter if you had your headunit nearly maxed and the gain down or your headunit off and the gains up. The point was you were outputting 10w and that the amplifier has the capability of more. *obviously this requires you keep things within the input/output range of the amp, but other than that the gain is independent* Now change the analogy from a sine wave to music, leave the settings the same but have an output power of 10w with music and apply that to what Impious said above.
  4. Indeed what I meant. Either way listen to the box and let us know what you think. Depending on how it is we can talk about ways of improving them

DAAAAAAAAAMN. I'd like to try some BIBs with those, but seeing that I haven't built my Dayton Full Range BIBs, I doubt I'll do it. Only 30w, but look at the efficiency. Tube amp or small cheapie ftw. Perhaps office speakers. who am I kidding, I am too cheap to buy those. Wholesale price $132.73 Curious as to how you know and if you can get said wholesale price. We (spookhaven) have a wholesale account with them. I have purchased a lot of items from them for the haunt. Very interesting. Do you own spookhaven?
  6. That's a first. An example would help, I've never seen that before. What did you search for, what did you find, and where did you end up? And yes, probably reading the whole thread would benefit you....unless of course it was one of these classic threads that help nobody that piss me off when people make them.
  7. Unrelated still. Every brand could be different. Comparing two specific subs like above is possible, but again not for BETTER. The question is NOT answerable and rather stupid in general. Amusingly it sounds like the OP is having an argument with someone and wants backup. They are both wrong, lol. i just love these people who think they know sooooooo much and are so above they average guy that they cant answer a simple question and even go as far as to call the question stupid. thanks alot idiot!!! Asking what is BETTER is stupid unless you describe an application. It isn't about me knowing so much, but about the fact you can't read nor follow the posting guidelines you AGREED to when you joined the site. Had you done that, I guarantee the question wouldn't have been stupid and you would actually have gotten an answer. In just asking better though there is no answer and yes it is stupid. By the way alot is two words, a lot.

Maybe you shouldn't think and type. The RL-p is a great woofer and will work in many different applications. It really depends on your goals. Burping one is possible, but that will require a serious understanding of the box and frequency to really determine the power handling in that scenario. which box and which frequency tuning do you recommend to increase tolarance of box in higher power? Spend a few minutes in a real modeling program and your question will be easily answered. IMO anyone doing any sort of SPL should first really figure out how a program like WinISD works. Not that it is the gospel, but it will sure help you understand output versus tuning versus excursion which is a pre-requisite for building any burp box.

Eh, I'd rather have the real thing if SHTF. Didn't say I didn't want the real thing, but when it comes to a robbery a deterrent is definitely what you want first. NRA stickers on the security signs a must IMO.

<-- really HATES the word prolly No offense to you J, just voicing my rant. The hair on my neck stands up when I read it.

x 9 X 10^7897087090bajillion Wielding the biggest weapon doesn't hurt either, but that is only a deterrent. Obviously hitting your target is what will stop them if the deterrent fails. And for me with a handgun that is like a shot in the dark. Not so good with guns, but of course I've hardly ever held one.

I need someone to record the sound. Then if anyone breaks into the house, I am going to play it over the stereo coming from upstairs followed by a verbal warning.

Eat 12 cups of veggies a day Interesting. I'll have to bet some veggies. The thing is, the only veggies I really like are carrots, Cucumbers, and tomatoes(even though they're a fruit). Would upping my fruit intake help too. without working out? Just add protein. boiled chicken or shakes every 3 hours. You'll drop crap loads of fat ASAP. There isn't a drug made that is as effective that is also legal. I've tried them all, and ones that no longer are. I've been cutting down carbs so that's helped a bit. I am going to try to make time to work out. I come from a family who is big into lifting. My dad is a competitive powerlifter. He could teach me a thing or two in the gym. He's about my height, 5'8" but like a little under 300 lbs. 22" biceps, at his peak he was benching 635, that was before his surgery. Now he lifts a little lighter which is still a lot! Fruit won't help. Veggies will displace other intake and will generally make you healthier. In the process I bet you drop weight. It's HARD to eat 12 cups a day and that is really the amount you should.

It has been hovering at 0 here for a couple days, finally coming your way I see.
  22. No I meant that if he doesn't already know and more importantly UNDERSTAND what it will do he shouldn't bother to try. Will it do something, you bet. Will it do what he wants, doubt it, but of course if the thread was made in such a way that we actually knew what he wanted we could probably pipe in and help. Shifting the tuning down is a bit arbitrary and I know for a fact the OP has NO IDEA what that actually means, nor does he understand what that will do to his driver and how it will react overall with his box. ALL of which should be understood very well before trying anything. Oh, and of course my attitude here could have easily been put in a helpful realm had he followed some general posting guidelines and posted something we could all help on. Re-occurring pattern here that has ended in a warning. Make a thread that is useful for the forum or don't make it at all.
