Even a cheap mic will give you relative readings. Out of curiosity, why do you need to know?

uh, wtf kind of toyotas have you been working on? I've seen toyota do some retarded. ass. shit. I've actually had the same experience. Honda and Nissan are terrible, in particular Nissan I worked on an 08 Camry today. I've work one Tundra new and old, corolla, camrys, ravs, 4 runners. The way Toyotas are put together makes a lot of sense and you rarely ever have goofy wiring. Leave that to GM cars. I will say though, Chevy Trucks and SUVs are one of the easier to work with. Decent amount of room behind dashes and pull apart so fast. Nissans can be bad and almost always Hondas are a pain. I worked on a CRV and had to replace a sat radio system, I had to take the glove box, lower center console, and drivers underdash just to acess 2 screws to pull out the radio and climate control assembly. Civics are the same way. What a pain in the ass. head units/speakers are pretty simple on most non-luxury things I'm talking actual mechanic work. Pulling the front wheel/tire to change a belt on a RAV4? fuck that shit. Me too, but I will make your statement more clear. Rav4? Fuck that shit.

cabin gain???
It isn't impossible, software programs like Odeon make it possible but at $30k a crack they aren't that available to the average enthusiast. And it would require some serious modeling information to do so. The automotive manufacturers themselves do it and all sorts of other measurement/modeling as well. Not trivial and is nearly impossible for someone on here without serious connections. Much easier just to measure.

What sub is best for me?
Kicker's box specs are geared for loud usually, not always ideal. What would really help is to understand what you currently don't like about your setup. So far we have just heard terms like clean which is rather subjective. Understanding what you don't like is the first step towards fixing it.

cabin gain???
Not trivial to calculate, but you can measure. Just build a small sealed box with a pretty flat response and measure it in a free air/anechoic environment and then put it in your car and remeasure. Of course positioning of the mic and driver can also affect your results.

What sub is best for me?
Sound Quality category? No, but neither is ANYTHING else the OP is looking at. There is NO reason the L7 can't sound clean.
-
What sub is best for me?
This is the same as your last damn thread. The problem with your L7 is that it wasn't put in a box that will make it shine. If you make an equally out of spec box for any Fi or IA sub it could sound just as bad if not worse. The L7 has a bad rep that is misapplied based on people not knowing what the hell they are doing. It CAN sound really good, but it takes an install to make that happen. Fix your box and save your money, the right sub for you is not a sub but a box,.

.35cuft and ported is going to be a RIDICULOUSLY long port, even for 40Hz. Nothing you can do will get tons of output down that low out of such small surface area. And no I wouldn't worry about lining as you aren't going to meet your goals anyways. Pretty sure you aren't realistic on what 35hz actually is...

Welcome to the world of small boxes, they always equal long ports. As for the Polyfill in a vented box, it isn't that it doesn't work it just adds more variables that aren't helpful. A better question is why do you want to add it? *note I am not referring to lining the walls of the enclosure, but stuffing

Wow. Even it isn't walloped on it could be sweet. I may call them on this. I wanted B on B but... Meh.. The price on E55's is basement low. I also did research on the S. Charger issue you mention Sean, post 2005 they used an upgraded charger so it wouldn't be an issue after that. I did something verry verry bad though. Que?
