  1. Easy to get derailed when people puke recommendations without asking questions. What kind of car?
  2. I love my two sets, kicks and pillars it's quite nice hey Dean, where are you located? Has to be great without midbass drivers. lol
  3. True, but that sub deserves a braced like hell box.
  4. I'd probably build a coffee table, but only since it will be hard to do much else. A sonotube in the corner would be fine as well.

You mean the I want a pearl not a piece of sand stuck in my labia thread?
  6. I personally would never run more than a single r/l midbass/midrange/tweeter . Two sets has all sorts of bad written all over it.

I didn't recommend no polyfill for that reason, but the fact that he has a response he doesn't like but stuffing will alter the Q and the "perceived" box volume but not in a way that he can calculate anything from it.

  12. The Pio has 32 bands as the 16 are independent left & right.

i'd pour that down the drain
  14. I wouldn't spend the extra up front. Guaranteed no matter what you buy you will finally realize what you like and want to change. If you don't then you'd be happy saving the $250

Isn't your box ported? If so, polyfill really isn't a solution. You should just build another box. I'd first do some measurements ((even if they are with your ear) at non-full bore levels) and see EXACTLY at what frequencies you start to hear a roll off and describe that in your thread. It will take you less than an hour and will give us way more information on how to help with your box. Faster than building another IMO.

What do you do for a living? You are in Europe driving on the Autobahn while working? Whatever it is, sounds good to me. I manage the sales and technical people for a high end German manufacturer of measurement equipment. I see. Nice. Spreken ze deutsche? I dont but I like to be the dick who asks! Nope, Russian and a bit of French.
  17. The take a step back comment was geared for the OP not you. Way to over react. Wrong info indeed. Sound clearer due to less frequencies per driver -- not correct. It surely may not sound "clearer". High RMS rating means jack shit. Shouldn't be part of the discussion. I didn't say don't go passive either, I said passive and 3 way makes no sense. Please read before reacting emotionally.
  18. I'd have to go back and re-read. Either way he over reacted to something I told him to stop 2x and he kept going on. 1 day vacation for that. Let me draw an analogy. Someone comes to your house, you have a sign on the front door that says remove your shoes. It's winter and your visitor has snowy, wet dirty boots on. He walks in. You ask him at the door to remove his shoes. He doesn't and even argues with you. You ask again and are met with an argument. Now what do you do? You know what I'd do, that dipshit isn't coming into my home as that sort of respect is not acceptable. Oh and it had NOTHING to do with asking about my trip.

Trip is going well. Making some serious progress with production planning and engineering. Have to do some more convincing on some product positioning, but I have a feeling that conversation will go well as I am very prepared. Fun to be BY Far the youngest one in the group but still being leaned on to lead. No real car pictures, I am by the black forest and it has been raining the whole time. Cruised down the Autobahn at 240 in an A6 though
  22. Well had you actually followed the terms & conditions you agreed to when you joined (which are the noob threads in my signature) then I wouldn't have said anything.
  23. PLD does not affect stage height, but stage height can be manipulated if you have low mounted drivers With my old kickpanels, and you can ask audiolife on here as he heard it several times, I was running a simple passive coincident component set with no EQ and the soundstage was above the dash. The car imaged and staged well with nothing more than properly aimed kickpanels. Probably could have been pretty darn great if I had actually taken the time to really tune it and dial in the install some more. I know it can be manipulated, but the less manipulating the better. In particular for height. I'd rather manipulate other responses and get height the natural way.
  24. Oh, and you've never seen me be mean just to the point. When I am mean you will really know.
