SQ Three Way Front Stage
If you compare the L4 with the scan 12m, you will no longer be interested in the L4. Now figure out how to mount them in your dash up high....not so easy forcing you to compromise.

Your input on my component system
Not if stage height is important yes, even when stage height is important. you need to get some demos in some world class SQ cars, when properly done, you wouldn't even know the speakers were in the kicks because in a true SQ system the location of the speakers is audibly in-detectable. and the best location to achieve this is in the kick-panels. when kicks are not done properly is when the stage is lowered and and audible attention is brought to the location rather than the stage. I have and most definitely it is NOT the best location. Vertical cues really eff up the stage and when they are low there isn't a way around it.

SQ Three Way Front Stage
IMO it is always best to have one driver play as much of the frequency spectrum as possible. 4's regularly have a hard time with this.

3 questions for bass upgrade
I don't think that you will be depressed with what the BL can do; however, I'd like to know what Broadway musical soundtracks you blast.

Cobra is terrible for someone in your age group, but I have no idea on alternatives.

SQ Three Way Front Stage
I'd NEVER use a 6" as a midrange in a 3 way, even a 4" can be a compromise. Depends on your real goals though. Saying SQ and then loud has me wondeirng.

Speaking of the grill is hot. 32oz Porterhouse going on. Some grilled asparagus, pan fried carrots, and steamed/creamed cauliflower to go with it. Opened a bottle of Coppola Claret too. Time for relaxation!!

Even though you already know what you were talking about, I must admit taking Garlic Salt (now use Garlic Powder) out of my preparing meat equation has resulted in better tasting food. I definantly do appreciate the insight, thought I would share that with ya. Cooking channel on 28" in the kitchen while cooking, FTW! whenever something isn't how you want, post a question here in the hop I am sure I'll answer. I am more passionate about cooking than audio...

IXL Power Handling
I tried to kill a prototype and couldn't. I only had a JL 1000/1 which I clipped real good and the woofer laughed....but I still am not recommending that you go and blindly do something. Listen for stress and you'll be fine though.

The Silvy dash sucks for speakers, but kicks aren't really a great solution either. No matter what you are going to have an issue with stage height. Then it comes down to budget. If it isn't a problem a 3 way would be the way to go, but you are going to be spending some money on the drivers, amps, processing, and install then.
