  1. Who doesn't know. One of the biggest douchebags scam artists in car audio history.
  2. What is your schedule this week?
  3. Return I am not sure is certified...but not sure how it could be a refurb and then not.
  4. Was just about to buy an open box from an ebay site that is Kenwood certified for $499. Every time one sells another one appears so my theory is they are doing it to lower the price and just opening the box... Then today, refurbs showed up for $387. At $449 I figured the open box was a better deal...but $120 is a big percentage of it. Talk me out it please. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kenwood-DDX9903S-AV-Receiver-Apple-CarPlay-Android-Auto-Certified-Refurbished-/172722447639?hash=item28370f6517:g:pCoAAOSw6DtYSuma
  5. After picking some ripe ones the 3 day ones just don't do it for me...don't get me wrong it is better than nothing but my attrition rate is bad
  6. Less picky is a given as i am an as whole about everything. I just have super shit luck with avacados
  7. Again....how?
  8. Gain settings are irrelevant from a where they are on the dial perspective, thermal noise however is a sign of crap.
  9. I run cheap amps....and no one can tell. Blind A/B testing is enlightening. Conveniently I used to reach sound quality assessment juries how to act and fulfill a real test so I have some background. Add to that over 40 years of music training and my ears are pretty good.
  10. How do you get good avocados in mn???
  11. I'd never bother with that. Just one 4chn and one 2chn. Allows you to put something beefy on the midbasses. The mids and tweets hardly need any power in comparison to the midbasses. Would allow you to upgrade the midbass later on to something that really digs too.
  12. Exactly. Of course the tradeoff is now in LFE versus midbass. Building a ported enclosure for those Beyma's will do wonders for how well they dig as well.
  13. I watched it with the sound off....way better.
  14. What do you think happens when you design for efficiency? For a dedicated midbass you are looking for a 8" or so subwoofer that doesn't roll off so early. ie, it is akin to running ANY sub in a modern car stereo. Nothing to worry about. Efficiency is the most misunderstood specification as on its own it tells you pretty much nothing about how things will sound.
  15. Actually I have no idea, just figured from a machoismo pov
  16. I make extra if you want some
  17. Putting them in a ported enclosure makes a MONSTER difference as well.
  18. Same with soccer. 6 nights a week at our house and that is an awful lot of coaching. I love it, but lord is it time consuming.
  19. That is the classical trade-off in car audio. No real way for beefy midbass without dedicated midbass drivers. Efficiency isn't really the concern as you make that up with power.
  20. No reason to spend extra on the Mosconi. Probably cheaper options as well, but generally I use 2 amps for that application so you can get more power on the midbasses.
  21. A single 12" Gcon ported if you can be a bit crafty with the box work. If not, we need to know what you can fit box wise to help.
  22. The Sante Fe?
  23. I expect the 1/16 Kenwood release to basically be the 1/17 JVC. Can't imagine they really changed the processing...just the gui, shrunk the screen, and added a CD slot.
  24. As soon as the new one isn't MSRP anymore I'll probably buy that and be selling what I buy now.
