Welcome to the IHoP
ya, no kidding, I think if this happens, I'd just live in Columbia and commute the 20 miles I just can't see you living in a small Missouri town Tom... Living in Columbia would be quite a bit more exciting, halfway between K.C. and St. Louis too. Columbia would probably be culture shock enough, Centralia would be twilight-zone-esque Columbia is a std college town.

Welcome to the IHoP
As I said, don't care. Didn't read the note Peng.

Welcome to the IHoP

so its decisions time, sundown or AQ
If it were $200 cheaper I still wouldn't consider it a better deal.

Welcome to the IHoP
And of course you are now exactly where I am. Damn it.

Welcome to the IHoP
Of course if you are at all pondering the Jeep you should just get the Cayenne Turbo.

Welcome to the IHoP
If there were any SRT8 vehicle that I were looking at, it'd be the Jeep but damn could they put a more GM plasticky interior in it please??

Welcome to the IHoP
The last generation V is a wreck and the new one is way overpriced used. In a few years perhaps it'd be fun if they keep making it. The 300 drives like a tank and I have much more reliability faith in a BM'er with computers galore than anything out of MerChrysler.
-
Welcome to the IHoP
Ah, the E60. That won't disappoint you. While it isn't as thrilling as the E55, it is a MUCH more behaved car...almost too much so. Reliability wise there are a bunch of new computers in that thing which frighten me as well. Not so sure that it would be an "economical" solution. You might be better off with just a more vanilla 550i. Worth a drive, you might be surprised at how quick they feel. Is it the same? no, similar? no, but it doesn't suck.

so its decisions time, sundown or AQ
No question Sundown wins. Real parts versus cutting corners. AQ is overhyped.

Welcome to the IHoP
E39 or E60? I am not a BMW V8 guy. They had some early growing pains, I am sure things are okay now but the era of the new spacey look and rapid motor changes made me not so much a modern BM'er guy. After driving the new 550 though I am switching back, but haven't bothered to research much. If you are looking at E39's it is sort of obvious but the whole car is rather dated as it was released in 1998. Personally I much prefer the feel and drive of my 91 to that era as well, not that they aren't nice cars. Going to feel really slow compared to the E55 AMG although I am sure a hell of a lot cheaper to own.

And amusingly the Chile I had last week in Milwaukee was significantly hotter and tastier.

Welcome to the IHoP
Sitting in Santa Fe, NM isn't for me. Sort of like Texas only with Chile instead of Chili

Tell me about Resonant Frequency
The bridge that recently failed in MN did not go into resonance. You are referring to the Tacoma Narrows which failed in the 40's. That failed not at its first resonance but a higher resonance excited by high air flow. Nothing will go "out of control" unless you force it to, but you should use your subsonic to prevent overexcursion or really know what you are doing and understand your source, levels, and listen for stress. Impedance rise is generally caused by a box response and not a driver in free air.

Am i wrong here?
I don't care, any budget. You pick. I am curious as to what your SQ system is. I told you what is in my truck, what is in your ride? What pieces and how did you do the install?
-
Welcome to the IHoP
where the hell are you now?

Tell me about Resonant Frequency
All objects have natural frequencies. This includes your whole body or any of your parts. For instance your stomach, ever wonder why you get sea sick? You excite the natural frequency of your stomach and your body doesn't like it. Subs of course also do. The lower generically means that they will be able to play with authority lower, but in a box designed with some savvy you can get a sub to play well below its Fs. It just isn't as easy as it is with subs with a lower Fs. If you don't understand the whole gamut of T/S parameters though, I would encourage you to follow manufacturers suggested box sizes and not arbitrarily design your own.

Welcome to the IHoP
know if they're looking for any entry level positions? All the time Texas Instruments too Especially if you're an engineer; practically every company from every field are looking for engineers down here in Texas That's beacause if you aren't from Texas you don't want to live there as much as I don't want to live in TX, I'd probably make an exception for LM or GD They both have locations in Minneapolis as well ...know anyone I can email? I did like MN when I was there, but I think the winters might kill me I don't actually work with either, but could dig around for names. I will add emailing is NOT an effective way of presenting yourself. Phone, phone, phone...if you can't do face to face.

Welcome to the IHoP
I don't think it will continue either
