  1. Was wondering when your camera and audio gear popped up at the same time. I'm a sucker for both as well. Sick of fidgeting with the pc though. Sounds like Kenwood or Pio you are okay with? Nobody has shit in stock here and quite frankly I am too cheap to buy new so I will buy someone elses something, but wanted to narrow down my shopping. Thanks for the headsup!
  2. That is frequency response chart, not a damping chart...to make matters worse the units are ridiculous. To be a good dampener it has to dampen, which is what you should measure. Again, I didn't say it had no use, but it isn't a good replacement for CLD. Don't try to force a different discussion,we were talking about the effectiveness of CLD vs Spectrum. Not some arbitrary unitless frequency response function.
  3. It has other uses, but stinks as a dampener. Since you claim differently why don't you show us measurements. Pretty easy to measure damping and validate your statement.
  4. it is pretty simple. Budget, space constraints and goals determine what you can/should do. Without that you might as well just pick at random.
  5. Videos don't show you anything useful.
  6. Eric, I see you sold your 8100NEX. Wondering what you replaced it with and how you like/don't like the difference. Contemplating pulling the car pc from my truck as I could use the PC elsewhere and it's original primary use is better served by my new laptop anyways. Wish I would have realized this when you were selling yours... Either way, really curious on your feedback.

  10. NEVER EVER EVER EVER base ANYTHING car audio on videos, lol.
  11. Why are you assuming. Ask. Your other assumption is wrong too. 6 so cheapos is not the way to go.
  12. Can just drive the boat up and get close lol
  13. Extender and BW on the 70D ought to have some reach.
  14. 4ga is more than fine, it has no relation to what Sundown marketing has spec'd for the amplifier wire input size.
  15. Back to my question then.
  16. All depends on what the word "system" means to him.
  17. Should have seen Tonka yesterday. Were at least 80 boats moored in my bay. Binocular peepers dream.
  18. And yes, anything is better than stock. I have nearly a thousand feet of monprice 18/4 wire run in the house.
  19. Can you use a computer as a source? That and few measurements and the crossovers are easier to narrow down..
  20. Yes, minidsp in my garage, lol
  21. A few reasons this will be helpful. 1) Active ignores impedance so you can just set it and be golden in the range 2) You can play over and over with baffle compensation and with your baffles in particular that will be helpful 3) You can experiment without spending money, generally speaking an active crossover will be cheaper than its analog counterpart anyways. If you have 10 iterations of analog then you are out a ton of cash for what could have been done easily active ...I could go on
  22. Any way of testing what sounds good to you? ie, anything you can use for an active crossover first?
