Welcome to the IHoP
ORLY? I suppose if cost was no factor. WHen I went shopping I couldn't find anything plasma @ 52" or bigger that was under 2k that I liked. I got 2 sharp aques lcds instead. Blacks, action, sharpness. The only bummer with Plasma's IMO are rooms with too many windows. Actually another bummer, only Panny & Pio make good ones and Pio is leaving the market.

I'll have to take some pics of my neighbor's driveway. I am sure someone beat me to it, but I don't care

A wet sponge is easier than sanding IMO. By wet I mean barely damp. Done that before and will never do it again. The sponge contours you your hand an wall. I prefer to sand to get uniform pressure throughout the joint and relieve the high/low spots at the same time. My basement looked great after primer. Once I applied the paint, every joint stuck out like a sore thumb. Thankfully 90% of them are covered and it's not a public room, so I left it alone. You are putting on too much mud if you get it to contour to your hand. Dilute your mud with more water before it goes on and treat it more like bondo. I would completely avoid sanding if at all possible. Also get a tile sponge, much easier to not push wrong on and don't use force just lightly go over it. It will work. If you have ridges and have put it on thick then you will need to sand and are doing a lot of extra work.

Help me build HT enclosure using 18inch Fi btl.
Actually FI's IB sub is the IB3. Home theater you should be tuning to WAY, WAY lower than 35Hz in which case the BTL isn't really a great solution. You'd really be better off selling it and buying a more appropriate driver.

Sub suggestions
If you like what you have why wouldn't you just rebuild it with the same internal volumes to fit your space?

Damnit there was a set of speaker cabs that I found someone building on the net a year or so ago that I REALLLY liked cosmetically and I can't find them. I was sure I saved a link or pics.

I don't like the rear tires. Not sure if it's the rounded shoulder, how they sit in relation to the wheel well, that they just look silly wide, or a combination of all of that. I just don't see the value proposition in that car period. Agree on the tires though deviating from the classic look could really help that car.

Sub suggestions
Slow down. Not so sure any of that advice makes sense. First step, what about the box isn't working with your current arrangement? What are you using for speakers/power for your mains? HT sub and music sub are different. You imply you want it for music, but that will require a SSF otherwise you could have some issues. We can help if you fill us in.

Can a Q be built up to handle 2500watts?
Don't buy a Q, it really isn't for you. A BTL can sound more than good enough for what you need and take a lot of power.

RE MX'S or JL 12's
Experience biased by misuse. The XXX only failed because of you.

Which amps would you recommend?
Those could work well. What mounting locations? What processing? And IMO a 3 way passive that wasn't designed IN CAR isn't worth doing. If you want 3 way in your car you NEED to do it actively.

Undercoating will be better than bedliner in particular if it is an old style rubberized undercoating. Still not as effective, but a perfect solution for use on the underside of the vehicle.
