Welcome to the IHoP
Summer nats next week in MN. Josh's car has a reserved spot. Supposedly the paint is "done" If I go there will be pics. I have been avoiding seeing cars I want lately as I can't afford the time to do what I need Otherwise last week I may have gone and seen (and probably bought) this: http://www.pim.net/TinMan.html

By not good you mean terrible. Instead of proposing a solution, why not describe your problem. There is a much better fix.

you should double up on ur crossover ... it is less frequency for your amp to filter out without an oscilloscope you cannot really test where your h/u clips that is why people say to turn it down to 3/4 (better to be safe than sorry) ... yes you need to tune the front and rear gains independently as they are driven separately sometimes making one set of outputs more than the other ... also make sure that when tuning each gain that you test both the outputs going to that gain as one can be slightly higher (always tune to the output with the highest voltage) ... do not tune to the birthed amount of power because your amp will most likely clip ... bring the wattage down some Having multiple crossovers in the signal chain causes phase issues. really? when i worked at boomer mcloud in watertown they told me that it was better to filter them out at both the h/u and amp ... which would be better to do? amp or h/u? They were confused at boomer mcloud On top of that regularly using shallow slopes underlapped sounds much better than using steep ones. The point of a crossover isn't to be a brick wall but to allow you to have the best sound possible from the drivers you have based on their limitations.

I am sure that it still needs wet sanding though

Welcome to the IHoP
Aidan has one good night, one bad night (then repeat) Kari seems to be happy, although she'd really like it if I were at home instead of in San Jose. In particular since it looks like I might be spending the night in Salt Lake City as my first flight is late and i am on the last one out of SLC. That would suck although I will enjoy dinner at the Red Iguana if it happens.

Efficient Marine 12" Sub?
4th order bandpass will be less efficient than a ported, 6th order won't be enough to boost any efficiency anywhere near what was requested. Neither will T-Lines. An efficient driver is the request, not some method of making it more efficient. You did outline the only time I'd recommend resin on a box. This time though it is only for waterproofing the outside.

Torn between 50.4 and 125.2
You need separate channels for separate drivers unless you have a passive crossover to take care of things. On top of that rear fill of midbass won't help rear customers. Think of your home stereo. Even if you have a 5.1/7.1 system when you put it on the music setting ALL of the music comes from the front two speakers and the sub, nothing comes out of the rears. There is no benefit to having rears.

Which Amp to Use Plus Xover Question
It can be done but that is even more money. An all analog crossover won't be any better than the amps. You need the capability of EQ, T/A, and crossover to compete with the 800prs. When you add that the prs has both L&R eq it is really a no brainer.

Which sub should i buy?
I wouldn't ever run 4 amps when I could run one instead. Doesn't mean it won't work, but far from ideal.

are you against pro amps? Not for my other subs, but this one I'd prefer a plate as it is for the living room not the theater room.

Which Amp to Use Plus Xover Question
If you want to go active the 800prs and a 4 channel amplifier will make your system sound WAY better than just using the crossovers on the amplifier.

Need Answers
well i have a single cab truck... they sell a ported truckbox for 1 10 that is 1 ft3....but i'm guessing 3 10's in a sealed box and for sure 3 12's in a sealed box will hit harder because of the huge difference in cone area... Your assumption may be seriously flawed. EXACTLY how much space do you have?

Welcome to the IHoP
I am a little pissed. The Dayton 1kW plate amps were $350 the last time I looked and now they are $450. At $350 it was nearly a no brainer, now I am not so sure.

Which Amp to Use Plus Xover Question
Not so sure you will gain anything over the Hybrid crossover by swtiching to the amplifiers. Personally I'd upgrade the headunit if active were your goal.

Generated Square Wave vs Forced Square Wave
Not sure I understand exactly what you are asking. Perhaps I can state something that will clear it up for you. Average power on a pure sine wave is .707 * peak (ie RMS), obviously on a square wave this isn't the case as your meter showed you.
