Welcome to the IHoP
Not enough thermal capability in the Cerwin Vega's. Zeff may have laid out a nice board for them, but they didn't put in enough of a heatsink. My sis's boat gets teh hot, just trying to "keep up" (lol) with the L7.

Welcome to the IHoP
How can they possibly say that when they brag about their superior $2000+ 200 watt amplifier? What $2000+ ? How about $4000+ ? I criticised the fact that in such an expensive amplifier there are mistakes on the pcb and they had to add some resistors here and there with point to point connections. If I don't brag, it means I hate. Are you shitting me? ! ! ! Last time I priced them was many years ago, but good lord. I shit you not ! And we have....hmmm..5 or 6 cars with the top of the line gear. I'd love to see someone whip their ass with a pawn shop amp

Everyone knows that equipment is everything and the install isn't important.

Wasn't it you that made some buss bars? It wouldn't be so hard to seal one of them off if they were coming through the mdf.

Where my subwoofer?
If you wanted it shipped fast you should have bought used. I can't believe you guys are upset over a custom built sub that is still shipped in under 2 weeks. Hell normal companies would take months to do that.

Box for Fi Q15
$10 says you don't really want it low, but would rather have it loud. They are trade-offs and mutually exclusive. The more output you want the less low it will play. Personally I'd doubt you listen to music with true lows in it anyways.

XT4000.1D: CEA rated power?
Your questions should be whether it does power, CEA ratings are nearly useless.

Do I really need a Processor??
You will need a processor with 2 more channels, whether it be an offboard proc or an amp either way. Do not jump into 3 way right away as it will sound like hell. Actually I'd bet for the first month or so active your 2 way will sound worse. It takes time and fiddling to get things right and there are way too many variables when you have 7 drivers as 5 is hard enough.

Wish my gf would allow that. Sounds kinky. Man I miss my high school best friend. we'd talk about sex all the time. I guess when you grow up you're supposed to mature out of that. But that was also high school, the time of naivety. Don't take this as an insult, but rather constructive criticism. . . . Your woman will do anything you want, you just have to throw ideas out there and be cunning in your persuasion. Each woman is different, but if you know HOW to talk to them, you are in no matter what. I've always used persuasion to get a woman to do whatever I want. Be prepared to give when you receive though. Life is sales

The sound deadener Poll
Don is far from my buddy. Never met him; however, I have had conversations with him regarding testing and material properties and unlike other companies who provide a product like this he actually knows what he is talking about. I have a lot of respect for Paul from CAE as well, but the rest are in it for the business and not to provide a product that works. A mic will not tell you what you need to know. Measuring Sound Power/Transmission Loss/and also the actual panel damping is required. That is the issue with testing and why Don didn't do it in the past and focused on the glue. To test SP/TL you need an anechoic chamber and a reverb chamber and about $80-120k of equipment. Panel damping requires a $250k scanning vibrometer so the whole process is far from trivial.

I don't think I can beat it, but I was brought home from the hospital in a '74 bug. Parents had multiple bugs before and after that day also. There is a die-hard air-cooled VW gear head who is part of the mod staff, but I will not say who. I've got a set of 5 spoke Empi's, a 72 dual port 1600, some seats, steering wheel, light buckets and all sorts of other Wolfsburg air cooled goodies at my house; although I doubt Aaron is referring to me.

The sound deadener Poll
I'd disagree, we finally have a manufacturer who understands what works and what doesn't. NONE of the others do. There will be a new testing site up soon, I have offered to do some of the test work and am excited to be a part of it. Don't expect any tests up for a while though as there are a ton of variables to cover to make sure that everything is fair. It performs better than anything else for the money. Don does know what he is talking about, understands constrained layers, absorbers, barriers, and can actually provide useful information to his buyers. The caveat is that I haven't used his stuff yet (although that will change in my next install), but as many of you know I work in the Acoustic & Vibration consulting field and I fully expect that everything that Don is selling to be really worth installing.
