Welcome to the IHoP
Love those amps, only thing I don't like is their signal input limit is about 2volts I think. Yes, I remember they have a low limit. That kinda scared me, even though I know I only get 2.8~3v out of my Alpine at vol 30. Only an issue with an Eclipse IMO. Hell the output of my 880 never hits above 2v with my daily listening.

If all in ideal enclosures, it would play louder than a BL or Q with the same power. If you were expecting a problem with doing that, then you need to do so more research. It will NEVER hurt a sub to give it less power unless the operator compensates like an idiot with the stupid knob, err gain knob. Well. i hooked my sub up to a bxi 1608 today and it was just a little bit louder than my friends Q. or did you mean if you put 300 watts to each woofer the btl would be louder? You asked about 300w. No matter the power, even at 1W the BTL will be louder than a Q as long as they are both in reasonably good enclosures. ALWAYS. You need to do some more reading. Much more. For instance I currently only have around 200w at full output going to my sub from a JL 1000/1. I don't need anymore, it works perfect for my setup. How do I achieve this, easy just keep the gain DOWN.

xcon vs dd 3500
i know. but ive heard enough systems to know what spl subs sound like. I'll say it one more time, the 3500's don't belong on your list if you are implying that you won't like the BL's.

xcon vs dd 3500
the box is more than 80% of the sound, don't shop at all until you do that right

Any Headunit on par with Alpine H701?
Clarion 9255DRZ or the Ural CDD are the only two "headunit only" selections that can run a 3-way+sub You could use an Alpine h/u with the H701, but you will still need the C701 for programming it unless you get a touchscreen.

Sort of, they had to cut it since it was a C section but it was still 8" long so I trimmed it. That shit feels weird when you cut it.

Downfire
Depends on your goals, personally any less than 3" of clearance beyond the sub travel isn't enough but my goals are probably different than yours.

Why do all the Q magnets crack!?!?
And wow, another "beating on it" scenario with a Q. Not that it has anything to do with the magnet, but really look at the BL next.

xcon vs dd 3500
Assuming that they are in a logical box this would make me not even be interested in the DD side of your comparison. And either in a box designed for the task should be able to hit your goal, it will be up to you to make that happen though.

Help with 12" L7 box?
I might even tune higher depending on your goals, which would be helpful to understand. When you say "capable of" what do you mean exactly? Luckily for you, IMO the L7 is easier to build a box for as the shape of the cone itself is easier to cut out than a circle with just a jigsaw.

Welcome to the IHoP
And I am working on it. If someone would buy the M5 and my truck it would help, although to be fair I suppose I need to list them for sale first.
