p980bt vs x991 better for SQ?
You didn't ask a logical question so no one can help, yours was subjective. Perhaps if you said what you were looking for and stated your definition of SQ you would have gotten somewhere. my 1st post: i want blue tooth/ipod/changeable backround pic, the ipod is most important and SQ. what i have is in sig. i have good stuff and want the best deck for SQ. they both have the options i want. i think the p980 has a better screen and i think the ipod on the x991 is better. no one around me has this on display so I'm buying blind. i though i explained what i was looking for very well. it is ok as the years go on i get less help on the forums. one day i will ahve money to burn and buy and test everything my self. I'd bet $10000 your definition and mine of SQ are VERY, VERY different. You only get help if you ask good questions.

It consumes me as well, when I don't need it but am gonna buy it sometimes I am amused. When I need to buy, it FUCKING sucks. I refuse to get a bad deal and won't buy anything that hasn't been taken care of, plus I seem to like not the typical car.

Yesterday actually. Did you ever have any troubles with the tweeter channel on one of them? No, I can't remember ever having a problem with a tweeter channel. How is it behaving? Like it isn't connected. I haven't unsocked it yet to look, curious if you had any issues. The only thing I have done so far is swap l/r to make sure it was in the speaker.

Agreed Thanks again for the help My pleasure.

Need a midrange 80hz-2200hz
Do you have to use that tweeter? I'd choose something that plays a little lower or run a 3 way, not the choice IMO for a 2 way in a car in particular with the a-pillar separation from the mid. If you have to run that Morel, the SEAS CA18rnx will probably be about your best bet. Super smooth driver that is ultra easy to integrate as well.

Just controlling the sound for the rooms. I don't have that processor yet, but soon will have computer control for all 8 rooms with speakers. No crossover, t/a, or EQ. Although being I only installed this on the 30th, that might change as I get deeper into things. I will say that it is refreshing going back from a mediocre DVD player to the PC as the frequency response is definitely improved. The low end is more accurate and fuller and the top end clarity has me rolling off the treble. I will probably use the 2nd pc as an active processor for building speakers, but that project has a few others with more priority to happen first like the bathroom I have ripped down into studs, it needs to get finished and hopefully before Easter as we are having 25 people over.
- Good idea?

12" sub in a 1.0 cu ft box sealed
'cuz I currently have (2) 15" Celestions in the rear quarter panels, and (2) 10" Powerbass in the console. Find me a good 15" subwoofer that I can fit in my current enclosures (2.4-2.5cu ft gross), either sealed or ported that will outperform the Celestions, and I won't have to modify them at all. The 10's just need more power, only running about 75 watts to each. But if I'm going to change, why not go big? I want MORE. *pukes* Perhaps rethinking everything and stating your goals would help. I too don't think quantity is your solution and will actual be harmful to your goals. There are better ways for sure, but you need to keep it simple as the setup you propose will fail like your current one.

should sub output be set at amp or hu?
If you need to do that it is a classic sign that your system isn't setup right and the gain on the sub channel should be lower.

I haven't bought one in a while which means I haven't searched to see what is available. They have all gotten better lately, but I'd look for a pro audio source instead of a gaming one as they always use better electronics. ie not a Soundblaster, but an M-audio would be a generic starting point. Currently I run an M-audio and a Chaintech AV710 which was the steal of the decade. Both sound great and drive my stereo as I no longer have a source except the TV or computer.

Everyone buys Andre since it is $1.79 a bottle. Completely un-drinkable as well. Disgusting.

Having about 30 people over at the house, should be fun. Just finished pulling wires for my whole house stereo yesterday. They still have to be cleaned up and properly mounted, but we have music. My basement looks funny with 3 receivers and an offboard amp sitting next to each other. I'll post pics later, too much shit to clean and food to cook to get ready. Hell I still have to plan the menu and run to my buddies liquor store. Bring on 09! Enjoy Towson. Had the ultrasound yesterday. Seems healthy and well hung I guess we are having a son.

You are brave or stupid.- Good 4" Coax?
I'd personally just run a 3-4" full range if I needed the frequency range of a coax in a driver size that small. I also hope you are filling the low end in with something.- quick qustion
Install is everything and buying some plate off the shelf isn't the right solution, you should make your own out of at least mdf (do seal it though if you use it) and make them as big and thick as possible as it will make a huge difference in the sound of your speakers.- Ported or Bandpass
If you are asking the question, then you should go with a ported enclosure as there are more variables with the band pass and until you have some experience I wouldn't jump into that hurdle. - Welcome to the IHoP
