Welcome to the IHoP
That is their asking price, they like to negotiate. I bought the W's Audi there, asking $22k paid $16k I was just ribbing you before I can't beleive they would move that much. Maybe if we both walked in and asked for a double buy discount we could get them to drop trou and take it? Now I want ribs and a new Benz though.. Sean either you are a really bad influence or a really good one. another car I have had in my mind for a while is the cl600's. That V-12 is sexy. Part of my problem with MB is the CL600. My buddy bought one new, within 2 years before they finally lemoned the car out, his fix sheet was more than 26 pages long. It never went more than 3 days without some sort of warning light coming on. No exaggeration, this is one of my best friends and of course it has soured me on the Merc. My other issue with the 55 series motors, my sister and her husband bought a CL55 from the local MB dealer. They put in the offer that it had to pass an inspection by a third party. After taking the car home, they brought it to my mechanic. 2 months out of warranty, but it needed $18k in repairs including a new supercharger. Needless to say they returned the car to the dealer.

need some opinions for my component amp
The 3 ohm question is actually a really good one. My guess is yes, but you shouldn't go by my guess. I have never measured anything on those components, but would have to assume that they don't put all that nasty of a load on anything anyways and that the 3 ohm really means that they are under 4. Hopefully Jake will pop in and give us a real answer on the amp which would alleviate that concern.

The gear you have outlined would be really easy to install. Why not try it yourself?

Soon to be had. They sound good there, although they would benefit from being more on axis.

Complete rip off. The 9886 makes no sense, either get the 9887 or save money and get something lesser. Alpine 5x7 ovals are garbage The JL w1 is an overpriced joke, IMO this shouldn't even be sold. I barely have more than that into my system: Pio 880, Seas CA18rnx, LPG 25nfa, Mach 5 IXL 12.2, JL 1000/1, JL 450/4, 1/0, and 4+ rolls of Raamat. In comparison what you outlined is worth about 10% of what is in my truck.

2nd Skin, Raam, or Cascade are your only real choices.

Does anyone have a JL Audio w1v2 sub?
Not worth it IMO. Definitely not a "hitting" type sub although no subs hit, they play music.

Ignore this post. For your needs the w7 doesn't make sense at all.

Welcome to the IHoP
Even if my tone sounds negative, I love all the ideas. I'd much rather have thought about it all so that when my choice is made I will really feel it is the right one.

Welcome to the IHoP
Regrettably the 4.0L V8 that BMW makes is a wreck. I'll go look at an older E55, but I am not sure what I gain over my current ride. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u...=&cardist=2 Too many miles, but it is at the stealership where the 2005 E55 that I am going to drive is so I will peak at it. My other issue with age is that work is leasing me the car...although if I find something I really love that is older I can get out of that and have them give me some cash.

Sax-100.4
Hmm, that is how it got banned from your school, huh? If I were your parents I wouldn't buy you a sub either. While I am not opposed for you to have an outlet and listen to music with your friends, you should at least pick a realistic way of doing it. Try building some home audio stuff for your room.

Peel n' seal doesn't work because the adhesive sucks. It doesn't deaden and it surely will hardly stiffen. You just wasted time & money on it and will have to peel it off to apply something that will work. You need as much mass as possible and stiffness if you can add it. If there are any way to make little braces like you would in a sub box it will help, but I'd start with a good 5 layers of mat on the skins first. 5 layers of Peel n doesn't stick won't do anything.

thats what iam working on yo, the safety aspect. wires concealed, taped up properly, made into a very nice package. with a retractable cord to charge with, so disassembly isnt required. Even if you made it safe, which you cannot. It is still a tool to only be a public menace. Please stop being such an inconsiderate little prick.

need some opinions for my component amp
I'd buy the 100.4 and bridge it for now with the gains turned down. As Jim says, it would be a shame to run passive with that h/u. With a 4 channel you can step up later. Just be sure to run two sets of speaker wire to each comp set so the future upgrade is easy. Oh, I wouldn't buy the 720prs set for active. The tweeter isn't worth having in a set like that. Instead I'd use your Pro's and figure out what you like less the tweeter or the mid and replace that first. When it comes to that step we can provide a lot of recommendaitons on drivers.
