Double front necessary?
Necessary isn't really a valid way of describing what you expect. I would surely tend to use at least a double and personally did even for my Rli8, but my definition of necessary perhaps is different than yours.

IXL 10's in an sq setup
My single one doesn't get anywhere near that and it is more than plenty. I do have a 1000/1 on it, but the gains are really, really low. Plenty of output to keep up with even rather rowdy front stages.

has any one tried this?
Indeed the only reason to run the 9255 is the built in crossovers. For passives to work, the drivers need to be measured in situ and they MUST be custom designed not only for the drivers but also the environment. All you need are amps and to get rid of the rears, as they do all sorts of bad to your sound stage. Again blend it with a sealed sub and get ready to smile

You have a 9255 but are using passives??? *PUKES* First off the ones you have selected DO NOT work with your drivers. Huge problem, has to sound like crap. Also, you talk about SQ so why do you even care about a ported box. What you described in your first post is not a bandpass, but two separate enclosures for two different drivers which is also a terrible idea. I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish. Sealed boxes can do everything that a ported one can, albeit at slightly lower levels but in the case of blending with your front stage the levels will not be the problem. Do yourself a favor, quickly throw away those crap passives and use the 9255. Put your subs in sealed only enclosures and sell your rear speakers as they are doing nothing good for you either. It sounds to me like you have been very, very misinformed by the marketing machines. You bought all this nice equipment, but missed out on the fundamental that the install is WAY more important than the gear and currently yours is confused.

using clay as a spacer.
Baffle =\ ..spacer layman's terms The clay isn't either. The spacer/baffle is made of mdf, clay is just the messy isolator and mass that is added to it. If you try and do it only with clay your system will fail miserably.

Fi Q or Fi SSD
This post gives us absolutely none of the information required to help you at all. My guess is you don't even know what LSQ or SQL or any semblance of anything near it is, to use either term it is 100% necessary to describe the whole system and not just the sub setup. Why don't you start over and describe what you want without using any industry buzzwords.

Dual 1 or Dual 2 Fi Q
Not so sure a Q is up your alley since you used the dumb arse term "hit" On top of that, I don't think you are a sealed guy. And most importantly, if your goal is to buy a pre-fab box you really, really need to rethink that. You need to have one built for that driver otherwise you are really wasting some money.

Installing pioneer 720's???
Mine can go back to stock easy and there is a 3/4" baffle; however, I did trim some of the plastic for the door card but all of the trimming is hidden beneath the stock grill.

Installing pioneer 720's???
An acoustic absorber. The real answer is it depends on where and more importantly your budget.

Porting Whoas...
You can't fit a port and two Rli10's in a 1.08cuft box. You will need a bigger box.
