  1. That and a Bel RX65 radar detector, although both aren't here in time. The Bel I didn't have to pay for as I used my Holiday Inn Priority Club points to purchase it; however, it was one of the front runners when I thought I'd have to pay for one. Actually the grill was sort of arbitrary as well, I have been shopping for nearly 9 months and finally found a real deal. 1/3rd the price I have ever seen one for anywhere else. Hell the normal retail on the beyotch is more than I paid for any of my first 10 cars. Passport 8500 X50, V1, Bel STI, Bel RX65 are pretty much the only choices. Gotta love getting the RX completely free I was hoping to close a deal on a car yesterday as well so my boss could have "given" me a birthday present, but someone bought it out from underneath me. Oh well, there will be more.

  3. I am not almost 40. Hell, can't you tell from my personal info I was born in 2006. <--will be in San Diego next week.
  4. I'd just get a budget plate amp that has the crossover built in for the sub. Makes that portion easy.

Untill now it's been going great. The epoxy holds great, the basket isn't warped, someone is finally buying the 6F cap and I'm going drinking tonight You said you didn't drink a few days ago.

You do like to use your hands for stuff. While ME isn't about that I would call it more "practical" than EE, in particular in that regard.

I'd often thought about head phone holders, but never got around to building some. I figured there were plenty out there already. It appears that would be a good market to start in, those plywood ones for 42$ are (in my opinion...) ugly, and overpriced. There is less than 1.50$ in materials in that thing and you can make it in probably 20min if you know what you are doing. This looks like a very interesting market, thanks for the heads up Neil. I think I'm going to have to go visit a lumber yard and pick up some walnut and 'exotics' and start seeing what I can make. Needless to say they will have curves and not be just a regular stand. I'm already excited about this. I'll give you a $1.50 for a pair

overpriced What is it worth? Does it do what it is intended to do? I run a 513? model Adcom, the biggest thing I like about it is I only have to flip one switch to turn on all my gear. *edit* I bought mine off of Jim, for 60$ I think? I like the single switch, and $60 is a steal

Generically speaking depending on your power company and wiring to your house you can have a lot of noise in your AC. Hell right at the plant you can have a lot of noise, of course otherwise there wouldn't be a need for $40k power analyzers like the Dranetz-BMI stuff. http://www.dranetz-bmi.com/ I used to rep the dranetz stuff, but it isn't really all that fun to sell. At the same time though I did have the Elgar/Sorensen line of power supplies and those were nice to have laying around the house. http://www.elgar.com/

overpriced What is it worth? Does it do what it is intended to do? Smooth transients, isolate leads, prevent surges, and generally just attempt to make your 60cycle actually only 60cycle. Lots of power conditioners on the market and while I do run one, I didn't ante up for an Adcom. If you get a good deal on one it is fine, but I don't see any benefit on using one of theirs.
