  1. No. For 35wrms even 18ga would be fine, I'd rec'd 16 though.
  2. Why not 2 BL's ported then?

    Mexico just screams build quality

That would indeed be a ridiculous 6dB passive. --as for mounting your crossovers, put them by the amp or under the dash where it is easy.

-15F here and I just went and put 40mi on the sled at 80+mph
  8. thats the same thing that was confusing me. the main thing that stumped me was, if the whole component system is rated at 100 watts, then the tweeter and midrange should be able to handle that much power individually (with the proper frequency), incase i wanted to run an active system.... although that is alot of power and I would probably never do it, but in theory they should handle the power. The key in your statement is the proper frequency as the drivers can only do the specs at either the specified passband or of course a narrower one. On the same note, if you are bypassing the tweeters crossover it is very, very possible that it cannot take that amount of power as the crossover most likely has a L-pad attenuation circuit built into it. It sounds to me like you are bi-amping, if that is the case set your gains on the mid first and start the tweeters at minimum gain and slowly turn them up to how your ears say they sound good. Be careful as it will be easy to give them too muhc.,
  9. $600 might be a bit overkill though, I'll be the first to admit I love going overboard but 3.5 rolls and 15 yards should be more than plenty.
  10. Raamat or SecondSkin are the only two logical choices at the moment.

Because the BL sounds better, no one has taken time to ask the OP what his real purpose is yet...nor the amount of power he has. Blind recommendations of an SPL sub is pretty dumb.
  12. Didn't vote, because especially if you aren't worried about price I don't like your choices. The Hifonics is a joke the other two are fine, but...
  13. the w7 is way, way overpriced.
  14. My choice was 1 Q 15, but not an option so I didn't vote.

I know there are some 6 zone pre-amps out there, but I dunno if I've seen 8. I'll have a look online in a bit. Any particular brands that are appealing? Spec's on most are sort of internet challenged, I'd like one that has a master volume control. Single source could be okay, but always a bonus to have a 3.5mm jack for other rooms.
  18. Install work come into play at all? If you are truly going 3 way no matter what it would be silly to use a 7...

I just sorted my gear and realize I should have a sale. Craigslist here I come.
  20. Is it a 3 way either way?
  21. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
organized all my cables into bins, sorted all my other random shit and put it away. Only room left to setup is the office and then comes the finishing work like paint and other she-i-o.

  23. Have you tried connecting your outputs to different speakers to see if the noise remains? Have you switched the output of the amplifier to see if it follows the speaker or the amplifier?
  24. I don't think it is slope related if it is only affecting one driver. As I stated days ago take off the panels and listen to them, I think it will make the problem much easier to find.
  25. I agree, they laugh at 35wrms...big time.
