I have a student from each 'group' this semester. - girl with airport luggage type backpack on wheels - dressed in all black with tears drawn on their face - mom of two kids who tries to relate everything I say to the kids and the past 40 years of her life. Always has a question, and never puts her hand down. - one individual brings a purse, a backpack, a travel bag, an umbrella, and probably their groceries and four other pairs of shoes to every class - the furious note taker. Frantically pounding away on their laptop trying to get every word down. - the douchebag who sits at the back of the class and replies to my questions with snide remarks. - opposite of the douchebag, I call her the General. No matter what I say, this 18 year old apparently has more experience in the field and believes everything I say is wrong. - Touchy McFeelerson. Can't keep her hands off of me during a conversation. - a couple individuals who I call "Mr. and Mrs. I did one year of school in Africa and developed my own religion" ... who start every sentence with "When I was in Africa ..." - bert and ernie who sit in the back of the class and NEVER turn their cell phones to vibrate or off. - the grade assasin. No matter how I graded the paper or exam, I didn't do it correctly. - the computer science and math double major. Showers maybe once a week. - the Texan. I cannot understand a word you're saying. Quit making your accent thicker than it really is, I have been to the States and know what it sounds like. - the person who asks questions about the exams on the first day of class. "How many marks? What types of questions? How long do we have?" Read the course outline. - the cheater ... I'm not an idiot - I know you don't need a TI-83 for a course like HIST 4xxx; and - the activist. I will build the largest diesel truck I can, just for her. Ha, that shit amuses the fuck out of me. Now multiply by 10 and you know where I went to school. Actually perhaps you know why I am an elitist dick.

I'm going to keep it completely stock and not beat the crap out of it. I too have heard that the IRS is a weak point. Naturally, I will have to go over both of them top to bottom in person, and I'll do that to the CTS this month. I think there is a CTS-DI at the dealership ... I'll take a look/drive whenever I get the truck in for service. Take both for a drive back to back and then weigh the wallet...sorry, it hurts to like nice stuff. As the hop heard me admit, I am an elitist and there are HUGE differences between the cars but either one you choose I will respect. Well mostly anyway

No you don't, they still look like super cheesy shitty GM crap.
  11. Your two goals and your one woofer idea don't jive. You can't have both worlds... Sounds like you want a burp box, is that what you are asking for?
  12. A fairly small sealed box will fill your SQ needs, you will have no problem overwhelming your fronts with it.

Just spent $80 on flour, yeast and such. Crap you can't get locally though

With the advent of all the pc controlled shit in cars they both scare me a bit regrettably--but that really holds for all new cars, the Cadillac has less cpu control but what they use I trust less since the general is in charge. I do find the Bm'er a lot more enjoyable to drive, it makes the transition from beating on it to civilized daily driver amazingly well. I would expect the longevity of the BM'er to destroy the Cadillac too. The whole IRS is a bit shady on it and can't take even mild power adders which doesn't bold well for it holding out in the long run. On the other side, if you part with your cars before they hit any serious mileage and don't abuse the chit out of them I think both would probably be fine. They are both fun to drive, the Cadillac just isn't nearly as refined as the BM'er...not even close.
  15. Not that much difference in volume, unless you are competing. Either way your budget is pretty skimpy and going to really reduce the choices to nothing really all that worth while.

My buddy is going through the exact same process, was all 3 series and now is hot for the CTS. His current lease is up in 2 months...we shall see.
  18. Again, it depends on power and your front stage.
  19. Yep, tons of units that are capable, but not so many that are currently available. Eclipse 7000/7100, Alpine 9887, Pioneer 880prs, Clarion DRZ9255 (also the 77x or something, but it doesn't bandpass), Ural CDD and of course I am leaving something off, but basically that is the list of ones that actually have real crossover points and not some stupid misnomered highpass for components. Those will all bandpass a mid and highpass a tweeter. The cheapest off board proc is the XM-6 which you can find for about $50. It still isn't ideal in my book though and the next real jump is over $100 in which case you would be much better off selling the Kenwood and buying a different deck.

At such a low weight the truck scale could easily be off 10%, I use the ones at the dump. Nice & light though :fin34:

There were 4 deer in my yard today. Amazingly tame, they were 10' from the window of the room I was in.
  24. What sort of power are you playing with?
  25. It is much easier to build the box after you have determined your port length as it will change the box size internally.
