18" BTL on fast-bass rock
You really do not want to mix sub sizes--SUPER BAD IDEA. edit: I merged the topics so there is only one, please don't add another: confusing enough to read now that there are two separate conversations but all the info will now be in one place

You are really, really lost.

18" BTL on fast-bass rock
Nothing to do with speed at all, but you are missing the point of the driver completely. It is made for SPL. Fast rock bass has nothing to do with SPL at all. Sort of like asking how well a pro-street dragster will drive down the street.

hmm, title only. perhaps you should understand the application of the driver better, it will be loud but... edit: first time that I have ever posted first in a thread that I didn't make

Box design for (4) RLP 15's...
Perhaps then asking a question would have yielded you an answer. Ellipses do not lead to questions. Mike's recommendations are pretty spot on. For 4 of them, shoot for 12-14cuft with 100-120sqin of port. Personally I'd tune lower than you are going to as well, 28hz would be nice but you will have more output tuned higher.

8 gauge wire into push terminals?
Then use a smaller wire that is actually appropriate for the application. 8 ga for that is a complete waste. Since it sounds like you already have it, I suggest spinning a cigar trimmer around it with nearly no pressure to reduce the size of the wire you currently have. Actually hell, I take that back just run 12ga it will make more sense across the board.

help with front stage setup
I personally prefer the midrange of your Aura's to them significantly, but I did listen to them side by side with no tweeter support as well.

considering switching to SD Amps
I'd try and collect shipping insurance from MA and just take the money and buy the Sundowns, not worth even sending it back in. Especially since the peckers told you to connect a damaged beast anyways.

maw12 powerandbox
Gonna need to go bigger to hit your target. 28Hz and a 3x16" vent is going to be near 38" long which is more than a cubic foot alone. Once you add bracing and the drivers I think your initial target has to be more like 5.5cuft, but really you need to account for it all in the planning and be exact.

BOX BUILD WITH PIX!!!!!!
Nice work, if you were me I would have beefed it up with another layer in the baffle and added some more bracing as well.

help with front stage setup
/\ what I meant. I love the idea of the 8, but mixing it with a 5.25 is the dumb part. A real dedicated midrange driver would be much better. Personally I prefer 3" drivers to the 4's even, but part of that is I have heard a couple 4's that didn't do what I would want while most of the 3's have come much closer.

Welcome to the IHoP
Thanks for the pics of those Zap's Ramos. Big for little puckers, remind me of my old Fosgate 5.25 mids.
