The Ford dash is WAY better for a-pillar/sail installations. Big open wide dash that is level, big plus is that it looks nicer than the GM crap as well.

Perhaps just a standard Ford Crew Cab King Ranch as well. I actually think the leather is nicer in the King Ranch, but there is something cool about the Lincoln in black on black. Not sure what the hell I'd do for a sub setup in one though. Not so much space in Crew cabs under the seat. Perhaps a 3 way with 10's in the doors and no sub

Sounds like Tundra time. Lincoln Mark LT, I am too big for a Japanese truck that and I won't buy Japanese anything if I can help it.

I usually have one of the dark ones active, easier on my eyes. Just switched. Is it supposed to better for your eyes or just your perception?

Not due to the price per repair, but the frequency of shit that breaks. Really sick of the crap plastic interior as well.

I might sell my damn truck, aargh. Stupid wheel bearing is shot (or so my guess is anyways), squeaks non-stop when you put any force on the wheel by turning the opposite direction, squeaks when you apply the brakes, and doesn't sound healthy. I can't believe all of the little crap that breaks on these things. My truck has about 70,000 highway miles and 20,000 in town and is literally falling apart. It will definitely be the last newer GM product I own until they get off their ass and actually care about quality. In the 60,000 miles I have owned it I have had more things go wrong by nearly 5x as I did on my Ford which I owned for 140k and was much harder on since I only drove it when I needed to beat on something. Frigging pathetic. So far it has been the most expensive vehicle to repair that I have ever owned. /rant
  7. In the budget of $80 a driver, I'd either go with Peerless Exclusive or the CA22. If you upped your budget the Excel series from Seas are outstanding, a lot of people consider the Excel 8 the best 8 you can buy. For in car though, I think the Nextel version would be better; however, they are $200 each so they wouldn't fit in your budget. The Peerless is sexier and probably has a slightly better midrange, but I would expect the CA to have better midbass. I haven't actually heard the 8" version in either one though so I am just extrapolating off their 7" brethren. I am sure that both are excellent drivers and either should work great. The install will make more of a difference than between the two even though they won't sound the same. The CA will be more laid back and less revealing and probably blend easier with your tweeter, but neither should be very hard.

As long as you get paid, I wouldn't worry about it. The guy on the other end will be paying fees for when it comes accross though.

Depends on the peripherals. Basically similar to the PC that I have which I built 4 years ago for around $600. In other words, I don't think its worth a whole lot.

Things are movin'. I have the bottom portion of my seat done (other than I need to buy a staple gun, good excuse to get one though). Actually looking at this: http://portercable.cpoworkshop.com/nailers...l?ref=googaw700 Anyone have any other recommendations? It will mostly be used for upholstery. Things like fixing my boat seat, covering door panels with vinyl, speaker boxes. Probably will only get used 3x a year, but I don't want to fudge around with shit that doesn't work. Can be had locally for $80.
  17. Power will be halved but it won't matter at all.
  18. Well is it 3 way or 2?? 3 way is going to take a significantly higher budget in that you will need more processing and are basically limited to a P9, DCX730 or H701 combo. Yes I know there are other solutions, but I don't like them. The SLS will NOT work in a 2way, no way no how. I like the HDS option out of your tweeter list. Although it is overkill if you go 3 way.
  19. I disagree on the one box with separate areas. It is nice to have a bit of "averaging" when using dual drivers and the only real way to do this is to put them in the same enclosure. Of course an enclosure that is 9.4 cuft needs a ton of bracing. As to your question, yes there will be a big difference between 4cuft and 4.5cuft. Have you already built the box? Normally I account for port length and size before figuring out the total volume of the box, it makes it much easier.

  23. I too like Ramos's wish list and without it would never buy one. Of course, I fit in the DIY'er label pretty well. I am also doubtful about the market.

Anyone know if I can search craigslist with an or? For instance, I'd like to be able to search for "ranger" or "champion". If so, it would save a little time when I go back to change every city name and reuse the search.
