Modest system with RL-i8s
I have one that I have run in .4 cuft sealed and .64 cuft tuned to 29hz. I enjoyed them both. On a side, I'd say scrap the rears and up the budget for the fronts instead. The payoff is much better.

Which would you rather have?
Imagine that, I'm with JJ on this one.

Welcome to the IHoP
just got confirmation that I am getting an order next week I have been waiting for. This order will put me at 25% higher than the territory did for all of last year (when it wasn't mine) and we are only in June. Not only that it will mean that for June we did 50% of what was done all of last year in the territory. Time to get crunk.

Working out Recipes
Nutrition wise I am not the one to help, but given a set of usable ingredients I can probably help narrow down ways to add flavor. I am personally of the belief that you should eat natural more than anything. Natural foods can include a lot of fats and other things "healthy" people don't like but I disagree. I would rather drink pork fat than some synthesized fat free splenda filled something or other. I am obviously not a nutritionist, nor overweight so it is easy for me to rationalize. Also, all that fake stuff tastes like chit.

true true. i hath forgotten to take that into consideration. i stand corrected its a pain in the butt to take the seats out...it really is running through the gas taink isnt that much of a hassle, its taking those dang seats out. at least you got me into looking fro xovers and eq's for when i DO take my seats out. i thank you for the motivation. Not trying to beat you up, nor am I trying to tell you to not do the review, just want to make sure that you outline what you did exactly when you do. Out of all people on here, I am sure I have the biggest Seas boner so its not that I don't want you to say they are nice.

Luckily it is mostly in the sections I don't go to otherwise I'd start to be mean to him probably. I try to not be mean here, that is why I post at FSC so I can take something out on idiots.

need some creative ideas here for my room
I understand but there is no such thing as a design for a box without an exact volume, tuning frequency and port area.

LOokit my new tweetzorZ!!
I wholeheartedly disagree, it is not fair unless they have identical impedance curves. You are comparing them with a bastardized crossover and not anywhere near optimum. Your crossover points are completely different between the two as well as response efficiencies. It is far from a fair comparison. The thing I can agree with and would expect anyways is your comment about their performance in this "particular environment". Running another set of speaker wires, gas tank or not really can't take that long.
-
how to set gain with Oscope??
Of course your amp will clip differently with different loads, so you sort of need your speakers connected to do this. Which also means they better be able to take the power otherwise you are going to blow your speakers in the process of gain setting.

pushrods ain't thaaaat bad Look at how many people love the Ls series of motors and how long the chevy small-block has been playing with push rods. That's due to economics. GM hasn't been able to figure out how to mass-produce an OHC V8 cheap enough yet, and they won't make concessions that Ford has. You have stemmed my curiousity on the concessions you are referring to. Well, let's take the Ford Modular motors for example. Their 4 vlave 4.6 is the cheapest DOHC V8 in production. IT's small, lightweight, a little down on power and durability, but it's super-efficient and very smooth. The blocks themselves can handle over 1000HP, but their weaker internals are their downfall. Notice when Ford Supercharged the Cobra in '03 they went with an iron blcok and forged internals. Now, they say they did this for durability, but there were a ton of racers already pumping a lot of boost into the aluminum blocks with nothing more than forged internals. The aluminum blocks were proven performers in the strenght area, but with Ford adding forged internals and a supercharger, they had to cut costs soomewhere. Bring in the iron block. They have been very aware of the HUGE success of the Mustang aftermarket and left it upon this aftermarket to take the most advantage of the engines. I think GM should follow suit. The market that is going to be buying these engines in these vehicles is also going to be looking into the aftermarket anyways, so why not cheapen up on the engine a little bit and leave it to the end user? You get less weight, higher rev potnential and the best part is increased efficiency. GM has always been one to sort of stay with what works, and while it has worked, sometimes you need to venture out and try something new. They got the SB Chevy to be THE CHEAPEST ENGINE to mass produce and work on, so I'm sure, if they tried, they would have no problem with adapting to the OHC engines as well. Their only venture I can recall is the ZR1 corvette, and THAT is far from cheap to produce or repair. It was very overcomplicated. Now, this is strictly my opinion here. I thought you said there were concessions. To me it actually sounds logical as there is an issue here in the US with people buying quality. Just look at the number of chain restaurants. Actually I have a fun game for you all. You realize how much I travel right? Now realize that I do not eat at any chain when I am alone (local little ones excluded) and see how many places you can find to eat. It sickens me how commercialized and crap-tized our diets have become here. In Europe it is family restaurant after family restaurant. In the US we get suburban strip mall chain hell. I FUCKING hate it.
