I prefer the credit card holder with the money clip attached. Smallest thing I could find that holds both money and cards.

Do you absolutely need a receiver? Could you live without a tuner? Part of your problem is looking at stuff that's sold in Best Buy, you're not going to find deals that way, on BPC (Black Plastic Crap) <-------- But yeah, it does need a tuner. All of my CD's reside in my vehicle...so most of the time when we're listening to music in the house it's the radio. I'm not looking for audiophile quality home audio....just something to breath a little life into movies and better quality audio than what I have now (10yr old Magnavox bookshelf system). Looking at the Pioneer VSX-816. Good internal power @ 100wpc, full preamp outputs should I get a hair up my butt and want to up the ante to external amplificators, has all of the AV I/O that I need and it's under $300 even at retail. Brad I picked up an Elite Thx receiver at a pawnshop for $250. Complete all the way down to Burr Brown DAC and autoswitching on digital in. I wouldn't ever even think of buying new anywhere near that price range. If you don't have $700+ to spend buying used is going to be the only reasonable solution in my book. I don't know how in the hell you guys find these deals in pawnshops. All the pawnshops in my area ever have are cheapass equipment.....NEVER have anything worth even considering purchasing. There is only one near me. On a regular basis they have at least a couple Adcom amps, albeit usually overpriced. You have to wait for some older gem to come in for them to price it right. Pawn shops have gotten smarter since the Ebay explosion which makes them much less of a deal than they used to be. Unless you find something they can find no sales records of, then you can steal it.
  6. what is it that your current system lacks the most of?

    lol
  8. Kenwood tape player, Kenwood 40w amp, and a truck box with horn tweets and 8's (some real off brand). Bright enough response that it sounded better in my trunk than in the car. I paid $90 for the whole setup when it was 2 years old.

Of course, the robot adds $100k putting the total investment to just under $700k.

If we add the robot, we can measure the exact bending modes and frequencies of every exterior panel in a production car in about 2 hrs. The conventional method with accelerometers takes typically 6-12 weeks.

Even shipping my demo is a beyotch. The 3D laser system weighs in at 1000lbs and ships on a big ass pallet. Typically around $1500 to get it cross country.

I meant a customer of ours (my companies) to get money out of, not one of us.
  17. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
So would be tuning the exterior panels to resonate at the same frequency as the acoustic space Not at all what the manufacturers wanted, but it would really help SPL.

Bring it to my office... You have an office in the BWI area? For a fee I will put an office anywhere. Of course I wouldn't charge you, but you'd have to find someone we could charge.

Thanks Aaron. I hope it goes quickly. Only been on the market two weeks, but there are two top contenders for its replacement. Both have docks on Lake Minnetonka.

Ran outside, not quite the gb but mosquito control instead. for destroying those friggin' beasts!! I should have realized that when the pickup they have stopped at the pond/swamp on the edge of my property and sampled the water that is what it would be. Good timing too as I haven't seen any this year yet and that pond is a stagnant mating pool for sure.
