Welcome to the IHoP
I assume that was measured without your driver as a load so no. Turn them down Tom.

It's a "Red Stripe" night
They aren't exact but really close. PBR is my favorite cheap beer as it actually tastes like beer. I am mostly a Porter and Pale Ale drinker though.

Mulch has been laid down. Me = tired.

Cone material
I am assuming that magnesium is stiffer since mag cones tend to exhibit breakups that are much more defined than aluminum. The aluminum typically have lots of resonant peaks, ring tones/harmonics that are closely spaced at breakup making them a bit more difficult to implement into a crossover design. A quick peak at the L18/RS180 vs W18 frequency response graphs will outline what I mean. To answer Denim's original question of which would be my preferred cone for each application, I personally lean towards aluminum subs (not into high SPL so they have never been a problem for me), paper cones for midbass, magnesium cone for midrange (wonder what driver... ), and silk for tweeters. Of course that is my generic choice at the moment and those of you that know me understand I listen to detailed music and only care about SQ. Most of the choices are based on price performance and what I'd buy for that reason.

where
In a lot of installs mounting on the box is fine, especially if your boxes are as inert as mine.

Do a blind taste test with PBR and Labatt...you will be surprised at the similarity.

Welcome to the IHoP
that seriously made me laugh...you have no idea. hahahaha. b/c it's, COLD BLOODED. Mehh, it doesn't happen often but I get down sometimes. I actually have been taking up music again, I was playing thunderstruck tonight(works t3h fingers =p). And actually I've hooked up with her before, it's just complicated. Details some other night I'm drunk and on the boards . Furthermore....I apologize for even posting that in the first place. I bought some very fine tequila(http://randalls.stores.yahoo.net/pa33224.html) and orange liqueur(http://randalls.stores.yahoo.net/pa17004.html) and decided to have margarita's. Needless to say the girl coming over, drinking, and getting on the forums = bad. Thx for the support though guys, good to know I have it if needed. Smacked by the ta-kill-ya. Good stuff you bought there, but too expensive for Margarita's. I hope you used fresh limes... In that price range I always get stuck with the Patron. God is that shit good.

Welcome to the IHoP
Aaron I haven't heard any of these, but based on what I have read here is what I'd buy: For ~$30 each: Seas H1212, Seas H1189, Morel MDT20 For ~$20 each: NORTH D25-06S If you are super cheap, I like the new Aura NT1 but it won't be the best with the Mli as it can barely play low enough. Other than that there isn't anything I am interested in unless we can raise the $ amount. Oh, I have a set of 1189's on the way to my house...

Welcome to the IHoP
well you might, but later will be a while I was at a customer site that wrote a PO for $25k for me to be there for the week. I really should think about working for myself instead of a company.

Welcome to the IHoP
Almost 60 here and super sunny. Melted the 4" of snow we got yesterday, already all dry too.

Orion Extreme 800
Didn't realize it would bridge to 800w at 4, I thought it was 2. Either way 800w at 4 will work fine for a D2 Mag.

Tweeter and Xover assistance
You'd spend more on the extra crossover than on the price of the tweeter, but anything is possible.

Eclipse 8053 or Alpine 9813
Balanced is nice, but if you don't have noise with unbalanced it doesn't really buy you anything.
