  1. well actually not really...i did have a problem with them when they played at 4.5khz the music sounded empty and it was just terrible. lol but then i gota 2.5khz passive and everything was all good except my tweeter cant play that low lol (CAL25 AK)...now when i play piano music i get this awful static noise coming from my tweeter. maybe if i bump them up to 3khz everything will be all good to go. You have other problems Flakko, get rid of those ill fitting passives and go active.
  2. Or if you are careful with your circle jig you can just press fit them.

Not fair. I love topwater. At least I live in the part of the country where you can still use topwater all day in the middle of the summer or pretty much all year once it is a bit warm and before it cools too much.

  5. Always best to measure.
  6. It is very driver dependent, you are going to have to experiment.

DCR is not impedance so I'd guess that yours are closer to 1 than .5, but either way.
  10. Where and what tweeters are you using? I would think those AA's should play lower than 60, did you go that high because of over excursion?

House goes up on the MLS a week from today.
  17. Go for the ported box, but maybe you don't need 32sqft of port area. That is the nearly free option.

On average people change jobs every 3 years for the first bit out of school. Don't worry too much about getting into the right field right away, but always keep your mind open and see where it takes you.
  22. I'd spend the money on the Morel or Seas then and use just a 1st order crossover. It would allow you to upgrade the crossover later if you felt the necessity, but give you nice drivers to work with. The only other crossover pieces that you should add would be a zobel to knock out the tweeter impedance rise and perhaps an L-pad of sort to bring the levels of both drivers close.

I am still looking, but part of the answer is work for myself.
  24. RS28's that are in the price realm of the Morel/Seas. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10663 I am scared of the Chinese Hi-Vi stuff, but I guess you'd only be out $20 if they bite.
