Welcome to the IHoP
Funny, that is exactly what I told the woman. My whole life I have been a Ford man, but I love the 67-72's and of course I dig the new ride.

Greatest Passenger Car Engine of last 25 Years
There are plenty of cheap ohc engines that aren't German. Heck even Ford had a SOHC V8 in 1966, which again is more than 40 years ago--and outlawed because it made too much power. The peakiness of the torque curve on a pushrod engine may be fine for trucks, but if it is a car and you want to drive it quick having the broadband effeciency that a modern ohc setup can supply is by far superior. Oh, any M5's don't have to be extravagantly expensive, mine sure wasn't.

Greatest Passenger Car Engine of last 25 Years
Sorry but I read your definition of simplistic as antiquated. Fancy OHC isn't so fancy since it has been around for more than 40 years. Pushrods are not a good idea, more moving parts, less capable at higher rpms, and just an older less efficient design. The LSX motors are hardly inneficient. Higher RPM isn't always good. I would rather make my torque down low. Of course not all cars or styles of racing benefit from a torquey low end. But for my day to day necessities having it in the low end is better. Fancy doesn't equal new btw. I also mentioned DOHC not just OHC. DOHC has more moving parts than pushrods and more weight in most case when similiar dsplacements are compared. The key is effeciency, both in power curve and emissions. OHC (or D) are more efficient than any pushrod engine ever could be. The "new" motors have direct actuation on their valves and no cam at all, which is the automotive manufacturers only cost feasible way of creating an engine that is more effecient than the overhead cam design. The only real benefit to an auto maker of pushrods is a cheaper engine to produce, nothing else but for some companies that is more than enough reason to bring something into the marketplace.

Behind the scenes at TC
Nice, thanks for the pics. Sure is a lot more interesting than when I toured the Harmon motive plant that makes the $0.30 whizzer cones for dodge.

Welcome to the IHoP
I have a rant about the damn John Deere people who design the pucking cabs on their new tractors. Where in the cab of a tractor would they put the damn speaker? In the pilliars, HELLL NO. They decide its a fine idea to put the speakers in the FRICKING ROOF, its like GOD IS TALKING TO YOU. Sound is not supposed to come from ABOVE YOU DAMMNIT! It is 4 crappy speakers right above you pumuling you with music from above... Damn then engineers. Someone needs to be kicked in the nuts for that. Next time I stop in there I will give them chit. Oh please do, cause their audio sucks. (This one is a JD 8100) Nice truck man I have to go to Waterloo (engine plant), the Quad Cities (Combine), and the construction group in Dubuque in the next few months. I will give them chit, sitting all day in something with out comforts is silly. Especially when you are talking somewhere in the realm of 0.02% of the price of the vehicle.

Welcome to the IHoP
I pull my buddies 238 Chris Craft around all the time, cause he drives like crap. Boat weighs 7700lbs so having a rig that can do it helps.

Welcome to the IHoP
I bought because it was small Compared to F250 diesels, 2500HD's, and the full size Dodges I was looking at. It drives and handles WAY more car/suv like and those others feel like trucks. I may decide to put 30-40k on this and let the M sit a bit more, instead of pounding the everyday miles on it so the highway ride was real important to me.

Definetely, doesn't leave much room in the ec for others behind me, but I really didn't want a longazz crew cab.

Welcome to the IHoP
Well, I just couldn't say no to this one. Right color, right options, leather, and not a friggin' door ding or scratch on it--well a couple really well hidden ones where the bedliner doesn't overlap between the bed and the tailgate, but they are in the bed! Great deal, and wash and oil changes for life. Now to finish the planning of the system. You may remember my driveway from my avatar. 02 Chevy Z71 Silverado LT, 72k

Stupid Question about volume
I've never looked hardly, and I am sure I probably change it on every track if not during the track as well.
