I like it especially with an 18, but no matter what you are proposing it is overkill for the dorm room. Only because by the time you actually get your speakers moving, someone will be complaining. I'm with Eldo in that I wouldn't be any tv on the "stage" you are referring to, not unless you don't want it to last very long.

I've got access to a 31 Model A my dad bought in the 50's. Beat pretty good as it has 70k on it, was owned by a high school bud of his. Also has a mint 26 Model T that he bought when he was 16 but with only 2k miles you can't cut that one up.
