Good recommendations, of course adding another baffle layer never really hurts either. The only hard part is rounding over the old baffle on the inside of the box. If I were you, I might rotate the sub 22.5 degrees and fill all the old holes and just use new holes for the SS. Then you know you have it all attached right and the only downfall is the non-lined up mounting (if you look at mine you will see it to be off by 22 degress as well since I botched the initial mounting LOL).

*holds back from hitting the buy now button* Friggin' Flakko, your making this hard on all of us.
  3. Come'on with hair like that you have to be a dealer, just not in car stereo equipment.

Did he stop? If so, did he open with some cheasy pickup line?

Seems like a no brainer to me. Rli ftw!
  6. Gee, wonder how that broke the Kippel?
  7. If I were you and had limited funds I would in this order: 1) Deaden 2) Get an amp for my front speakers 3) Upgrade my front speakers 4) Build a new box for my sub 5) Get new subs If I were a basshead and only listened to rap, number 4 might move to #1 but I am not so I couldn't answer that way.

Picture is worth a thousand words, especially with a measuring device in the space and dimensions underneath.

  10. Nice choice, even though for me it would be a Pantera. Not as exotic or fast (stock) but it would be the first purchase. Not the last mind you.

  12. Beware though. Don't just blindly set your gains or eventually you will hurt something. As an example, I have a 75w amp on my tweets set the gain at 20 and have turned it way down from there. Use a DMM or a REALLY WELL TUNED ear, clipping isn't always so easy to pick up.
  13. Easy to check crossover, play back a 60Hz tone to set your gains with. Then play a 500Hz or 1k and see what it outputs.
  14. Thanks. Didn't need to be fair, but glad you pointed that out. I am trying to fit two in my truck, perhaps.
  15. As well as I have seen a mismarked vc before as well which could cause your problem if it is only one, if you apply a DC voltage to each coil independently do they both move the cone the same way?
  16. Nope not a catch 22, use the big amp and enjoy the headroom!

Yeah, using HoK on a semi is a lot of expensive paint...
  21. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
YEah, I saw that as well. I was shocked with all the Abahn & crap going into all the other shows to actually see good stuff and of all places into Semi's. Gotta have the real audio rednecks to do that. Love it!
  22. He is at work now, but I will try him tonight. During the day he installs granite countertops. Le ugh lots of heavy lifting.
  23. You will only need a single set. And it will be loud.
  24. The start would be to tell us more like what equipment, what car, what locations, what your goals are, what music and so on...
