Thought about trying a blind test. Im using 320kbs mp3 right now. Maybe I'll just make a bunch of files and put it on random. Should I throw a few different encoders into the mix? I've also done some null tests for my undergrad research. So based on that I realize there's little difference between high bit rate mp3 and lossless but its not an area I feel understand confidently. In that case it had more to do with the data than whether or not an audible difference exist. I doubt you'll end up at needing 320

Boo, chose the wrong drive to install on. Had to activate 7 before installing 8 to get it to work. Really just want a "fresh" install with no leftover bullshit. Afraid when I say Keep Nothing, it keeps something.

Everything is a compromise. In a perfect world you'd get both drivers equal distant, a long ways away, nearly on axis, with no reflecting planes nearby. The doors are none of those. I personally wouldn't go through the effort of doing a 3 way in the doors.

Do a blind a/b test, it'll be better for you than anything you've ever done. If you want, mail me some songs I'll encode them for you and send them back. You tell me which ones you can tell the difference between. Cheat, use your headphones. It'll make you happy with your choice.

The ISF I drove had a terrible stereo. No idea what they do. Will give you another hint though. The OE's spend jack shit on drivers. Usually under a buck. Can't make a good midrange for that.

Thats true, havent had much time at all now that the dealership i worked for has been sold and more then half of the employees werent rehired to the new owners company but a handfull of techs including myself have to work 6 days a week opening to closing and not to mention i have school after work. But i wil try to squeeze some time to try it out. That is really nice that you think your time is more valuable than everyone else's on the board. Makes us feel special.

I'll give you a hint. IF they were possibly designed well at all they COULD work...if you mounted them all right next to each other in the kicks. That is something I'd never do though. One other hint. I've never seen a car audio passive crossover worth a shit. I am running TB W4-1337 Full Range in my office. The pair of drivers were $100 and I have $200 into the crossover. Mind you these are full range so you might say "no crossover" needed. Can you imagine how crappy said crossover could be on a 3 way passive in particular when you account for the fact that they weren't designed in the mounting location. Then add the shitty drivers they give you. The benefit of a 3 way is to get a REAL midbass and a near full range driver for the mid so that your music approximates a point source. They all fail on giving you shit of both. You can crap on the tweeter in a 3 way, but the other two drivers are SUPER important.

I have 3.1, NT, 98, 98SE, 2000, 7Pro, 8Pro and I feel like I am missing one. Always bought for me by work. Nice of them.
