  1. Sorry you wasted your time "tuning" with a useless piece of hardware that is terrible for gain setting. Perfect opportunity for you to enlighten us on what about their parameters make them suited for a 4th and how this could apply in you car. Ought to be easy for you since you keep citing they are so good in 4th order BP's. And please stop calling any ported enclosure a 4th order, just makes you sound uneducated.
  2. No, because he doesn't want to make sense.
  3. Hanging a turbo way away from the heat source in a salt bath in MN doesn't seem like a good idea to me though
  4. Read above your quote here. It's all about the exhaust. They COULD be CARB legal, but the money and time would make the kits too expensive and would never sell, so it's pointless. Any time you make any part of the exhaust different from OEM, you are in violation. Depends on the exhaust system. An esky goes 2 into one, but it does run 2 cats. So it must feed exhaust thought both cats before the turbo. While not impossible, it is a nightmare. FWIW a Turbo is not optimal for towing. A turbo (particularly intercooled) requires engine RPM and exhaust flow. You can compensate by using a loose converter, but you build heat. This heat buildup is an extremely bad thing when yanking weight behind you. IMO, while I am not a big supercharger fan (sorry, I owned a built to fuck GN), an SC makes more sense in Sean's case. I tow a 2,000lb trailer for 99% of my towing. Stock it has plenty of power for towing it. Figure a turbo does make sense for the economy of it and lack of extra load on the rest of the engine to compensate for spinning the charger.
  5. But but but I want a wastegate and a little alumineeeUm peaking through the front grill
  6. Maggie's are CARB legal

  10. Curious to see what sounds where I will need to block on the lac
  11. Lead sheeting is a step better, but usually more $$ and harder to find. Sometimes it is the other way around. You nailed it though, mass is your friend. No such thing as a lightweight barrier.
  12. Quentin, here is how "hard" it is. http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/forced-induction-159/trick-turbo-kit-install-steps-pics-521152/
  13. Served me well on the SHO, but I know better now than to put it on another daily driver. That thing was so nasty with boost I removed the charger every winter and reinstalled in the spring.
  14. I actually have a centrifugal in the basement as well. Stupid powerdyne though so it isn't worth plumbing in.
  15. Be aware they are noisy beasts. Constantly noisy beasts. Not really what I want....just cheap and easy.Same it's pretty straight forward. But personally I'd rather have a turbo. But the turbo kits for my car are 1k more expensive. If Turbo's were legal modifications I wouldn't hesitate at all. I just might use this as my toy hauler for years to come so I don't want to be undoing what I've done.
  16. Then I get a car. Only question becomes will it be a fun car like a Rossion or a Panamera/similar.
  17. And financing and such is done. Truck comes home tomorrow. Basically mine free for driving it for 3 years. End of lease I keep it.
  18. Be aware they are noisy beasts. Constantly noisy beasts. Not really what I want....just cheap and easy.
  19. I have done it before. I will be getting a dyno tune after. UWhat does it cost for a supercharger on your SUV? For the mustang they're like 5500Same, but I'd want the D1 for another $500
  20. I have done it before. I will be getting a dyno tune after. U
  21. I might pick it up tomorrow...so NO. Worst case Monday.
  22. Prochargers are on sale for another 8 days. $500 off...
  23. Next time try turning them inside out so they are fresh.
