  1. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8328790&CatId=14 Mobo, cpu, ram, $130 after rebate. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6076939&CatId=2459 1TB HDD $90 Not sure why you want an ssd. I've never used any so no input as to type or brand. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4864601&CatId=306 windows 8 64bit $100 Onboard video should suffice, so video card isn't needed. Is it worth going to $220 over the $130? Trinity Quad Core 3.4GHz, ASUS A85XM-A FM2 A85x Mboard, Kingston Hyper 2x4gb 1600 DDR3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113328 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131972 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104339 I may have made terrible choices. No idea. Looked for the last platform of AMD chip in Quad format in the cheapest derivation. ASUS Mboard with USB3/SataIII, and cheap ram with a brand i recognized. I would say you would be getting into the area of diminishing returns. The first links would already be plenty, and even over the next few years as programs demand more resources it would still be plenty. If he was shooting raw files (lol), editing in photoshop, playing video games, rendering cad files, editing large video files, etc than I would say the extra hundred bucks is probably worth it. Definitely shoots raw. Although I currently edit them successfully on my wimpy i7, 3517U 1.9GHz ASUS ultrabook
  2. You've been helped before and then shit on the ones helping. Add to that you are asking to be spoon fed and resist trying.

  7. Hassle is about 15 minutes of bolting things together. Used and PCs haven't been kind to people I know... Has a great case, power supply and so on so the barebones would be fine. Understanding which is what on the other hand is not.
  8. My dad's pc just shit the bed. I need to order him a "new" one. Case, power supply and ancillaries are fine but I need: Mboard/chip/video/ram/SSD/Windows8 Open to an all in one. He will use it for running AOL (puke), Paint Shop Pro, and surfing the internet. Any thoughts? I've been searching newegg and am giving myself a headache. My PC knowledge is now YEARS old.
