If that works, it would be huge here as they are fucking bezerk with traffic cams making multi-million dollar return on them every year. Not to mention there is a known error rate and incorrect tickets going out. That is unconstitutional....and MN agrees.

    double root
  4. Mine does. Just a cheapo Gal Tab 2 as well. Indexing takes a little bit, but I can live with that as mine is in the boat. If you need something faster store that on a flash and just use the HDD for the rest of the collection.

So far other than swearing when I can't find a few things I actually like Windows 8. The Metro overlay is rather pointless other than it makes it WAY easier to start a program without a mouse than in WIn 7. Computer fucking rips to. From suspend to restart it is about as fast as you can press the button. Restarts take 20 seconds or so.

    what do they taste like?
  12. You need enough voltage input to test the amplifier, not going to get that with a soundcard. Microphone is useless as you will be measuring the THD of the combined amplifier and speaker. Measurement equipment is not cheap. The mic I use is $1500, the analyzer close to $50k, power supply and load are also in the >$30k range and so on. Obviously anything cheaper CAN be used, but expect the uncertainties to climb to nearly pointless levels. Using that scope is there. If you are within 10% of THD with a variance of 5-10% in which level you see the power will be all over the board. It may be possible to use an analog filter to take out the fundamental and then use the sound card for the harmonic analysis. It's another variable to quantify, but not so easy.
  13. You need to test the amplifier's THD as a signal NOT from a mic. I wouldn't buy anything until you really determine the steps. I'd also be really surprised if you could even see 5% on that scope.

    It only expands a LITTLE
  15. And a lot of that is absolutely wrong. As with everything in a car there are compromises you make. Knowing what they are helps. Don't get me wrong some tidbits are good, but by no means would i blindly follow that.
  16. I use the 2x4 miniDSP and even with "all" the connections there is no degradation. I am using a line driver though as there isn't enough input or output from the mini's to drive my amps without them being thermally a bit noisy. i would love to do this, but i have 140gb worth of music And it is what I do and I have nearly 700gb of music. Tablet handles it just fine and a normal HDD is fine. You just need an enclosure that has a USB input AND a power input as the tablet will not power a full HDD.

alt-s works in whatever Ie WIndows 8 came with

Miller - size reference was for naked miniDSP's not the enclosed. They are bigger. In hindsight I actually would have ordered in cases and taken them out so that in the future if I need the cases I had them. Can't link and share a volume control so easy once in the enclosure.

Didn't you read emergencies? And of course by canned in this instance I mean in those carton thingee's. But no, I don't roast chickens for stock. I roast chickens to eat and make stock later. There is beef, lamb, chicken, turkey and ham stock in my freezer atm.

I still have my shitty food cravings. Manwich is one of them, it is..... packed with synthetic umammi. Taco Bell. Certain ultra processed chips like frito twisty flavor things. And diet soda. The diet soda I consume too much of but the rest is negligible. It's just one of those 'it's better than fast food every day' type things. I am trying to wean myself out of pre packaged and drive thru foods. J Fast food is akin to canned and frozen food. Some exceptions of course. For instance we always have frozen peas in the house and canned chicken stock for emergencies.

The miniDSP's stack and two of them take about the space of a deck of playing cards.
  23. And most likely it's a bad idea. Of course the translation of what he tried to say may be why, but the pics will tell the story. And if they don't alone the dimensions will tell the rest.

Shit in a can scares me. Exceptions being tomatoes which I realize it is mostly.
