    That sounds absolutely stupid.

Your welcome. I could make a blanket statement (ie its not right and has exceptions) but there is on purpose in a tube amplifier. This day and age SS is your friend.
  4. Not trivial nor cheap if the E36 in your profile is the car you are describing. Even the 5.25's are rough since they are mounted "backwards" in those. At the same time, if you are spending the money to build some kicks I wouldn't do it for 5.25" components. With minor walleye-rigging you can get a 6.5" in your kicks IB behind the factory panels but it requires some cutting and some patience.

Left and right are independent. Almost annoying when you want them to match as you have to manually copy them in particular with custom biquads. I bought the parametric version as it has the capability of more than enough bands that graphic makes no sense.

Add some more stress to the pot. One of my wives key employee's just quit. What else can I add to this week?
  7. That's over the top and going beyond. Nice. Exactly why I asked so many questions above. I still smell potentially an issue in car; however, the way you've dealt with Travis has been stellar.
  8. Is the SSF adjustable? No specs on the Amazon page (or I can't read in the AM). As for LP that depends on the installation of your front stage and how low you can (and want) them to play. Typically starting low and working up until it blends nice is what I'd do with the expectation that you will be between 50-120Hz on the LP and probably closer to the higher end depending on your listening preferences. The higher the sub plays the more likely it will pull your stage back, but of course subs are rather efficient in the midbass range so the benefit of course is more.
  9. IMO amplifiers should NEVER be used to run speakers active. There is a lot more to getting something to sound reasonable than having a crossover. Plus if you don't have a bandpass option on the amplifier there is no way anything you are looking at for speakers will work at all. You need to first fix your install and then weigh what it is worth to improve things and specifically address the weaknesses. Right now the install is the biggest weakness. *there are amplifier exceptions for running active but they have digital processors in them

They are more full of idiots than car audio forums. Be wary what you "learn"

did you have to buy any of their additional software for the filters / eq? They do indeed look pretty sweet. I may pick one up in a couple months for some towers / desk monitors. I bought a 2.1 advanced filter set and a 4 way set for $10. In reality you could use mine even... That's not bad. I'd probably use some set for a basic 2-way if that's not included. Those two are the only two you'd need. Sorry $10 each....or mine.

Used DVD Decrypter. Put DVD in, pc says "do you want to decrypt", click yes and done. Still VOB files though...so they didn't play

Speaking of ripping. I have DVD Decrypted some kiddie movies I own and want to package them onto my Droid. Any recommendations from people who actually watch movies?

If I didn't use an automation system to control the stereo they'd be local and it'd happen faster. I need to sit at the home pc to rip away.

And next week I'm in Boston, the following in Krautland. Your memory stick is on hold as I'd like some time to put things on I want you to have, but I'll do it. Might even do it while traveling No rush. I hadn't planned on putting any Rush on it. In fact I don't even have any.

Only downfall is that zero volume is not zero volume, but I can dial it out a few different ways if I needed. When no signal is there though there is no noise so it isn't really an issue.

Did I mention that I really dig the miniDSP's? Outside of using a cpu as a processor I pretty much feel they are the best solution. Amusingly I am running my JL component sets active and passive at the same time. HP (duh) and a custom biquad shelf filter to solve the ridiculous imbalance between the tweeter and the mid. Add a few parametric cuts and I have them sounding pretty good. Tough balance between teetering on the hairy edge of output capability and sounding right.
  21. No difference and the certification doesn't really mean so much either.
