  1. All amps are going to draw more current when the voltage is lower. Rudimentary example: Target output is 1000watts. V*A=Watts 14.4v*70a = ~1000watts 12v*83a = ~1000watts 10v*100a = 1000watts Something about the way JL describes their R.I.P.S power supply made me think it draws more than most "standard" power supplies...
  2. A jl amp pulls a lot at lower voltage? Maybe that's why idle is suffering a bit? I'm speculating since I have this $400 alternator not supplying enough voltage with heater and lights on.
  3. Good info here... my issue is that "cold" my alternator put out 15.0-15.1v while driving. And going to work it stays that high during the drive (20-45min).. just want to stay safe with all my gear. Do you
  4. Haha the funny thing about that is I thought," if mark and Aaron wanted to have a crazy deal what would they put up?" I guessed the 10" Xcon. Stared at it for 4 hours straight. Saw the price change and shit excitement. Even had the time to create another PayPal account I maybe would've gotten in on it if I wasn't working at the time. :-( sadd is I.
  5. Well seems the whole freaking world got in on that deal. LOL glad everything is ok. Can't wait for photos.
  6. Yeap that should do the trick. Did you try contacting Kenwood? Their CS is good
  7. Not very helpful. Lol. Is this at idle or 2k on the dash???
  8. Nice!!!
  9. OKay, well my car currently stays at 14.9-15.0v while driving around(foot on accelerator) but at idle I'm at 13.3v-12.2v ... Good or bad? Should I adjust top end for lower now???
  10. good news for SSA.. Hopefully this may mean better-more price points/selections ..
  11. yeah i ran the rca's inside and the power under the car..... I've had it like that with previous systems and have never had a problem with it ran like that. Just have it zip tied along all the brake lines that got to the back. My assumption is that if the lines on the car have been fine then my power cable should be safe. where did you you route the power in the engine bay to get underneath? I'm just curious of the path you took and length of cable you ending up using... I want to run a wire directly to rear battery from alternator...
  12. http://www.odysseybattery.com/battspecs.html
  13. Odyssey has been the only company I seen show full specs on internal resistance in a up front chart... Not sure who else...
  14. True. Well start hunting. Usually they don't come up a lot. I'm assuming they're that good.
  15. yep, my buget is around the 200 mark I could be wrong but I think you'll have to go used at that price point. At least for Hertz
  16. did you try and get any readings on it from something else? battery, just to make sure it is still working???
  17. lol... your pooch is possessed !!!
  18. how did you run the cable under the car? Use any PVC for protection???
  19. you bridging the amp or want to sets of components??
  20. yes.,.. pls do
