  1. I was thinking the same thing to be honest. But in my opinion, having the tweeter be so much louder than the mid range is more of an annoyance/headache than music. All the resistors you will need are less than 1$ a piece. I would buy a few, build the box, and do some listening. If you don't need the resistors and it's fine to you all you wasted was a couple bucks and you can keep them for a later project. Better than not ordering them and waiting a few days to get them when you've already done all the work and waiting for the payoff! For almost the same budget you can a get a pair of the 4" full range dayton audio speakers. Something to think about.
  2. And obviously a crossover network would be better. But it might break your budget/patience and probably not necessary for your application
  3. A resistor wired in series with the tweeter is just resisting the current the tweeter sees, thus making it quieter. They are not filtering out any frequencies, but making everything the tweeter produces quieter. The larger the value of the resistor, the quieter it will be. The resistors should be cheap enough to where you can try out a few values to see what you like. The only thing to watch out for is to make sure the power rating on the resistor won't be exceeded. Other than that, what resistor you pick has nothing to do with any T/S specifications on the tweeter. And I'm barely ahead of you with this whole crossover/resistor/anything other than a subwoofer game. So...take everything I say with a grain of salt. But I do know circuits and I know what a resistor in series does and I've also experienced this first hand.
  4. I did a build with that Lepai and some Tang Band 3". (http://www.homeaudioforum.net/topic/524-tang-band-3-full-range-boom-box-build/) I also have a set of huge cabinets with some 10" woofers and a tweeter thrown in that I use for a party set up. No crossovers; only a resistor on the tweeter (from the review on those Horns it looks like you'll want one too). Powered by a old Panasonic stereo receiver. I've cranked that plenty loud enough and haven't destroyed the tweeters yet. It sounds pretty bad for even me though. With how little power they'll be seeing, and with my own experience, I think you'll be fine. I would use a full range though if you can fit it in the budget.
  5. If any of you guys miss dealing with problems like pre-teens then you should check out "Devil's Ride" on discovery channel.
  6. I'm usually not a fan of using sun flare artistically, but I really like what you did with it
  7. There were 12 fights at UFC 157. Rousey and Carmouche were just the main event. Lot's of big names fought last night. Dan Henderson, Josh Koscheck, Urijah Faber, etc.
  8. Hopefully Mark or Aaron see this The store site won't let me post a review I enter in all the information and hit "save review" and it takes a few moments and then comes back an all white screen that says "Could not open socket".
  9. So it's been a few weeks! A wonderful few weeks may I add Before the DCON's i ran the SA's; and yes, I've noticed a difference in output. That being said, I like the DCON's more. And it's not just because they are easier on my wallet either. If the SA's and DCON's were the same price and required the same power and electrical goodies I would still buy the DCON's. I find the DCON's to be much more well rounded. I can go from listening to Jay-Z to Metallica and not be bothered by the massive difference in bass output between the two. The DCON's handle the <80hz spectrum much better than the SA's. And don't get me wrong. The DCON's still get nasty loud. I took a few videos but I really hate how they turned out so I'll take some more soon and post them here. Another happy customer!
  10. Word. Glad to hear everyone is in stable condition. Good Supermoto race at the Georgia Dome though!
  11. I too have one of the older fliers showing the white/lightblue dustcap letters. Fun stuff!
  12. Ever since I mowed grass for a job I've hated it with a deep, burning passion
  13. Last Sunday we were supposed to get a foot. We got 1" and it melted hours later. We got dumped on today by the snow lords. No reports yet, but easily a foot.
  14. I was so confused when i drove past this yesterday
  15. I prefer the looks of the Tauras SHO myself, but I like the numbers of the SS better. Except I haven't seen weight yet
  16. 351 Cleveland with select shift C6. My plan is to make is it look as stock as possible this summer. I'm kinda into the whole sleeper look The wagons are something wild man!
  17. Thanks! Got another night time shot righttttt hereeeee
  18. Absolutely. I would love to never have to use lethal force. Lots of people have been killed for less than a wallet though and I try to keep that in my mind to stay level headed. I can't say what I would do in my situation had I been carrying, but I've obviously thought about it a ton. And I agree again! Sometimes trying to stop the bad guy turns into two shooters; which is much much worse. Unless the situation is nearly perfect, I'm not going to run out and try to be a superhero. Luckily I live in an area for the majority of the year where I don't have to worry about such things. But it's also a great time for practice!
  19. And speaking of guns, the whole Obama gun debate thing hit my little city HARD. With only 2 gun stores I can't even buy powder to reload locally let alone .45 ammo. The local guys went ape shit and bought almost everything. But they did leave me a bunch of .303
  20. If It wasn't legal to have one in the chamber I don't even know if i would carry. And I don't for the record. Not old enough. I open carry (with one in the chamber) sometimes when I'm hiking and such, but never as a means of personal defense against another human. The last time I was mugged I knew damn well it was coming. Late night, walking from my buddies dorm to my car, saw the guy checking me out (no one else on the streets that late) and saw him follow me. I made myself an easy target; limping, alone, at night. Pulled a little revolver on me and asked for my wallet. Now I'm not saying things would have been better even if I had a gun on me. I couldn't draw unless I felt my life was endangered which wouldn't happen until i had a gun pointed at me already. But I knew he meant no good and having the feeling of not being able to do a damn thing about it was pretty shitty. On the other hand, the last time my brother was mugged it was completely unexpected. So I see what you're saying. Personally, I don't carry with the safety on either. If I'm going to draw it's because I will probably have to shoot something. I use to practice drawing a lot so that it's instinctual now to draw straight up so the barrel only points in the direction of a threat. For that reason I never have, and don't see myself ever carrying in the small of my back. Also would probably destroy my draw time; especially since I'm new to it. Plus if you get a good IWB holster and have a reliable pistol I don't see how you would ever have an accidental discharge. That's just me though. I would never do anything you aren't comfortable with when it comes to firearms though.
  21. ...i linked you to the pages with those quotes pages ago. You said you read them. Sigh.
