Ok so most of you have heard me ranting in the ihop about this for a couple months. But now i'm starting to overanalyze and getting burnt out. I'm putting a system (yo) in my father's vehicle. His hearing sucks, tone deaf, badly in one ear, bla bla bla. basically it's just something that will sound "good", his current system sounds like ass and is so harsh i can't stand to hear it. The new system just has to be loud enough to be listenable(is that a word?) at driving speeds. lets start with what i have so far 4ch RF amp (thank you ramos) for mids and highs, yes, i will be going active 2ch butler/phaze amp, i'll probably use this as the sub amp, why? because i have it already (75x2 @4ohm) 2 ca18rly 2 p18rnx Not sure if i'll be using the polys or the papers in his doors, but probably the paper cones Now on to what i need. Tweets, the seas should go plenty high to match with any large format tweet, and he has plenty of room in the dash for them. -thinking about http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=1496 or -would like to stay under 30-40 for the tweets but it's starting to look like I'm going to get a hell of a lot more product if i bump the price a little. Head Unit -- need something older and capable of running fully active, i still need to talk to ryan about his eclipse, but i'm looking at nearly anything here, a whole lot of time alignment and EQ is not necessary. --alpine 9813 (any other lower levels have good crossovers?) --eclipse (almost any) --pioneer (always been a fan, but hard to find the older models with good crossovers) Sub - this one is easy, if it's cheap and i can run it at 4 or preferrably 8ohm, i'll be happy with it

i thought of you at the gym monday too...some idiot that worked there started critiquing my workout. Gave me hell over the bicep burnout, asked why i was even bothering. I explained to build up my arm that sucks and he says well if you do...bla bla bla it'll be better. He was so full of chit he was really getting on my nerves. Even saying i should be doing 8 reps instead of 6 on my last set of one of them. then he moved on to the "i've been working out for two years....." at that moment i really wished i had an MP3 player so i could have pretended to never have even heard him.

lol they just gave me a figure with the results on it, and I'm supposed to tell them why they used the test and what the results mean. It's got antibody vs weight and i'm wondering if the analysis actually measures yield of the antibodies? it seems that way but i don't know why the hell they'd care about how much unless they're just showing that antibody XXX is there and XXXX is not.

what do you plan on doing for your frontstage? if you're happy where it is...go with the BTLs if you're looking to spend 2-3x as much on the frontstage as the substage, go with the Qs

my 15" Q does just fine upfiring in my stratus trunk. I'm not concerned with the SPL LSQ levels but it can still shake the mirror if it has to.

the sad thing is that's not really bad advice over there. if they had anything pumping out full range all the sudden you'd start hearing about how much louder brand X sub is at 150hz. Not to mention I'd hate to see n00bs bridging amps to low loads, they do bad enough with 4-8ohm SVC speakers.

looking at the amp kits from 41hz mainly, but have browsed a few sites that i can't list off the top of my head. None of them seemed to have as complete except one that was like chipamp.com I'm thinking if i can get the whole amp small enough i might go with monoblocks in the doors to drive the door speakers. Then two stereo amps under the dash (if i have any room) to drive the kicks and tweets.
