hi...i was directed here out of recommendation that i can find what im looking for here. i too am in the exact same situation as drummerman. im also a college student and just recently bought a 98 eclipse spyder. trunk is kinda small (like my budget) so nothing too crazy. i listen to almost anything on the radio since it depends who else is in my car. but its mainly on z100, hot 97, and 105.9. any help with recommendations would be great. looking for a sub and amp kit that wont push me past ~$500. thanks in advance ps- a link to picture and/or prices would be great. my first time buying a system so idk what most of them look like. convertibles usually suck for sub installs, I'd recommend saving your money and putting a little more in your budget. Check out the vendor forums here and the shop link at the top of the page. Companies like fi car audio and sundown audio are your friend.

there's no way to answer almost any of your questions. I personally think 27hz is too low for you, a higher tuning will be louder. dunno if it'll hit 140s, nobody else here knows either, only one way to know.... the one question i can answer is that i wouldn't buy that stuff, and i sure as hell wouldn't buy it if i planned on getting something better later, you'll never get your money back out of that equipment, save it and get what you actually want.

Though, i did find a leaky valve cover gasket. Any reason that wouldn't be covered under manufacturer's warranty? I would fix it my self but have zero tools here

TY TY, I'll take some better pics eventually. I'm very surprised at the amount of power this thing has for a n/a 6cyl. Not a speed machine by any means, but more than fast enough for my daily driving tastes.
