I think therein lies the problem, we shouldn't seek to control it like alcohol, because our control of alcohol has never worked. If someone is driving wrecklessly they should be treated as such, i don't care if they just smoked crack, drank a 5th or liquor, or finished a sermon. They were putting their own lives and other lives in danger...period. I always hear "would you want your doctor to smoke up before performing surgery?" Well after pharmacy school and hanging out with doctors, pharmacists, surgeons, etc. I will say I would rather know than not know because of the people that I met at least half of them were on coke or amphetamines regularly and heavily. Piss testing in general should be illegal, performance testing is fine, if you can do your job as well as it needs to be done then keep doing it. The fact is that all people are at different level of competencies to begin with and when on any sort of drug, including adrenaline or cortisol from stress, you don't always fall on your face. If I can do my job stoned better than jon can do his without ever partaking of an illegal substance then why does it matter that I'm stoned? If i'm acting like an idiot and it's affecting my performance or those around me....doesn't matter if I smoked or not, i'm not doing my damn job.

What happens if you have a legal prescription? I'd assume that they can't control that then, although while "working" they surely could. There is no such thing as a legal prescription. Federal law trumps state, so even is he had that, he's working a federal job, abiding by federal laws. I've been dealing with this with another HU and just want to add that it's not always as simple as DVD-ISO either. My unit will play a DVD-R with an ISO burn of nothing but MP3s just fine, but if I have folder and/or a non-mp3 file on the disk it goes all to hell and won't read it at all. So even though you burn as data make sure that you burn only .mp3s.

trying to help the aunt and uncle use a compuer is way too damn stressful.
