  1. Yea thats what i thought I know you can swap motors and what not but never heard of reconing into diff size without changing basket size but thanks for confirming
  2. I've heard people changing sizes of the sub when they do a recone, so I guess my question is how? Don't you need the correct basket size or can you recone a 15 or 18" basket into a 12"?
  3. Back 4 weeks ago I asked the same question in the home audio forum using Fi SSD drivers. After doing some more research into TLs I realized very few people actually know very much at all about them. If you want to do something yourself and have advanced math and building skills go to quarter- wave.com This is a forum involving mathcad worksheets and people who are on the cutting edge of TL design, mainly for home audio but also applicable to car audio.(very technical) If you are interested in pursuing this further and just need an enclosure design specifically for your vehicle and are willing to pay for it, go to pwkdesigns.com This is a very esoteric and not very well understood type of enclosure that may well be the best available in terms of efficiency, bass extension, and SQ, HOWEVER , they are physically large, complicated to build and the frequency response erratic unless active EQ is used after RTA analysis is done. Good luck, let us know if you decide to pursue this, OldSchoolSQ Thanks for the advice I'll look into those but more than likely just going to go and purchase a TL and use a laptop. THen I can help other bass fans in the area for little to no cost.
  4. I'm looking for someone whos got a TL anywhere in wisconsin or near illinois border.
  5. Yea I emailed DC mechman and excessive to get quotes so maybe ill shoot ohio gen one too just to see how prices compare Thanks for the input
  6. I am looking to get yet another alt for my car and I know iraggi makes good ones but has anyone used one made by excessiveamperage? I dont want to get ripped off like I have read few have.
  7. 136 on a yamaha 600 bike and 150+ in my buddy's trans am with 4:10 gears cam and the goodies speedo only went to 150
  8. Im running my BTL at .7 ohms and havent had a problem it is my daily and like you I have the electrical to back it. I do know its not the best for my amp but I love wanging
  9. i dont think im ready to go through all the work to seal off the trunk from the cab just yet. i want to try this out. but yes eventually over some time i will do that. just not right now. thanks for the input! I'm curious on how the testing went esp since I am running a single 12" BTL in the trunk but am on the verge of sealing the trunk off with sub and port facing the cabin but if either of these turn out well I would def consider them
  10. How far off is it than a TL because I am also really just considering buying one and paying if off by letting others use it for a small fee. All I know is it is not accurate, I have heard some say its acurrate, some say it is off by 3 db's, som say 5 db's and then up to 10db's. I have never heard of anyone actually doing a test to see how far off but I know there off by at least 3 db's or more if I had to guess. Hm well thanks for the help and I guess I'll keep you posted on what happens
  11. I agree with the dekas they work great for a great price I think I paid 180 each for mine

  13. I only use mine for voltage read outs, no the meter is not accurate but an effective way in telling whatever tweaking your doing is helping or hurting your system. I do listen to alot of old school so it helps in that region but if you dont need it for those needs there is really no point in buying a bass processor. Alright well I already have a voltmeter and sure it would be nice to see around the db's I'm producing but it's not worth the money I suppose. I can just wait until the first comp and go from there Thanks for the Advice
  14. I have been looking around at equalizers and was wondering how Epic 160s worked as one? I have heard they aren't very accurate for metering so is it even worth getting or am I better getting something like a Clarion 746?
