  1. how much power does an 18 mayhem handle in the max 8 cft enclosure for daily bumping? i have two 2610s which i could link to 5,2 kw. BUT with voltage drop to 12,8 there will just be around 3,3 kw.
  2. then the mayhem would be a nice compromize between output and deep bass. can i achieve 150 db with the 18 mayhem in max ported box with 4 kw rms? i know there are so many factors but what can i expect?
  3. yes thats right. but since the mayhem has 30 mm of xmax i thought it would produce some serious deep bass too.
  4. ive done a little research now. there are people hitting a 150 with 2 15 l7 on 2,5 kw in a suv... but personally i like single sub setups over two sub ones. the 18 mayhem has 30 mm of xmax so it should be close to the xcon in the lows but still get much louder?
  5. hi i have a bxi 2610d and now im looking for good woofer(s) and narrowed it down to xcon or l7. my goal is to hit the lows damn good and im not concerned in higher frequenzies. in other words i want to shacke my whole car, maybe hairtrick, window shacke, etc. either id get 2 15" l7 or 1 18" xcon. both setups would be in the max recommended ported enclosure. but personally ive never heard an xcon and dont have the chance to do it.
  6. i charge my batteries every weekend. they do fine for over a year now.
  7. nearly the same price. the l7s will cost me just 100$ more which is a damn good deal i think.
  8. were talking about 2 15 l7 and 1 18 btl. outputwise the two l7s should get louder and lower in the right enclosure (according to specs).
  9. why not? the kickers have more cone area and a much lower Fs aswell. i think the 2610 is not enough power for the btl too.
  10. why not? i thought it was a good thing.
  11. what is CS? ok i will give the 2610 a try. actually this is my current system but i will sell the btl for a very good price and get the 2 15 l7s instead. should be louder than. i dont know if the bxi is a good amp cause i just have heard my old zx 1500 and the bxi still puts out more.
  12. i just have that amp but im planning to get either one more battery (maybe hc 2400) or a better amp with a regulated power supply.
  13. i will hold voltage from 12-13 volt at ful volume (3 batteries; stock 90A alt). if the 2610 puts out at least 1,7 kw (at 12 volt) it would be perfect for 2 15 l7? (little overpowering them though)
  14. i contacted maxxsonics and i was told the 2610 puts out 1700 watt rms at 1 ohm at 12 volt. does the 2610 put out rated power? (i want to power 2 15 l7 rated 750 watt rms each)
  15. but i dont understand why the rated power handling of a sub isnt related to its enclosure size. fi recommends 5-10 cft of airspace for a btl but like you said this power handling is dependend on the box size aswell.
  16. ok thanks. so i wont do it then.
  17. does one 18 btl handle 4k rms for daily listening? in a 10 cft box. i just want to get the most out of my btl so i think of strapping my two bxi 2610 two 2 ohm. someone told me one could never have enough rms for music. this guy was running 4 15 l7 on a kicker warhorse.

the only thing i ever thought of selling the btls was i can sell them only for 100$ less than i payed. lets say how many dbs will increase by building a box that is twice the size? (same car, same amp)
  19. elastic replied to elastic's topic in General Fi
i like to run two 18 btls but my budget doesnt allow it yet so i have to save money first. space is ~ 17 cft.

yes i know. but i just want the best spl setup on the 2610 since i have the chance to sell my btl for a good price. i also know lots of people saying the 15 l7 sounds very loud especially on the lows.

i just saw a guy on youtube doing 150,4 db with 2 15 l7 on a zx 2500 (in a big suv). hm now im really confused what to do...
  22. elastic replied to elastic's topic in General Fi
so in theory with 2 18 btl i should hit over 150 db. what is your experience with only ONE 18 btl?
  23. elastic replied to elastic's topic in General Fi
in how far does the loudness change by adding a second btl with one more 2610.
  24. elastic replied to elastic's topic in General Fi
now the next question is either to run 2 15 l7 or 18 btl. i have two bxi 2610 and could strap them together for 4k+ rms @ 1ohm. on youtube there a alot of guys who put way more than 2000 clean watt on one btl.
  25. elastic replied to elastic's topic in General Fi
ok thanks. will my 18 btl in a 9cft enclosure outdo two 15 l7 in that same enclosure? can i run both 2610 to one 18 btl for daily? (5,2k rms; but considering voltage drop, just around 4k rms) edit: my goal is to be very loud but to have some decent sq aswell.
