Posted July 17, 200718 yr I've finally decided to go with a single 15 ported setup...bout 4cu.ft.tuned to bout 33hzIve got canidates in mind...but havent looked every where...CanidatesAudioque HDC3FI SSD (w/copper coil) or Q(stock)Kicker CVXAlpine Type RTC-Sounds tc-9I want to power it with this:Hifonics BXi 1206D 2400-Watt Brutus Mono Amplifier http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16367But I also looked at these...MB Quart RWE-352 - MB Quart Reference Series 15" 1400 Watt DVC Subwoofer http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3416If I went with those, I would get two and throw them in a sealed box. Ive heard that MB Quart makes pretty good speakers...And Ive also read that these are pretty good in a sealed box...These are nice because if i got them...i wouldnt be spending alot of cash. I know what sealed boxes sound like...my father had one...i loved the punchiness of the bass. All in all...i wanna be loud...i wanna be unique...i want speakers that I KNOW nobody at my school will have...i wanna sound good...i want some good advice!ThanksP.S. Im in HS so i dont wanna break the bank all the way
July 17, 200718 yr How about an RE SX15? That would also fit into your grouping, otherwise I'd suggest the FI Q or SSD....the audioque's like a lot of power, tons of people have type r's, don't know anything about the CVX's.
July 17, 200718 yr Admin Of the ones listed, I have not played with the AQ, so I feel the one with the best mix of output and SQ is the Fi Q, if you have the power to push it.
July 17, 200718 yr You want to be UNIQUE with a Type R or other name brand sub? I doubt that is going to happen...Stay with FI, or better yet. Check out SSA's own ICON. I can all but guarantee you'll be the only on in your city running that.
July 17, 200718 yr Author How about an RE SX15? That would also fit into your groupingThose are too high
July 17, 200718 yr Author why not get a SI Mag or SS RL-p or something. ICON would be a good choice too.How much those mag's run?
July 18, 200718 yr You have a bunch of drivers that don't fit together in my book. The Type R is junkThe MB quart I am not at all impressed withThe CVX is way overhypedIf you go TC9 at least go with the SoundSplinter as the service alone makes it a better buy than direct from TCI haven't heard or held an Audioque, but am not eager to eitherThe Q or SSD would be fine, but they do not really fulfill the same application.not quite sure at this point what you are looking for...
July 18, 200718 yr Looks like he wants a daily groundpounder but doesn't know what would be good for that. Unique = Fi, or you may look at SoundSplinter, Mach 5, SSA, or DC Sound labs (basically anything on this site); loud = based on application, sound good = based on application. Give us a good budget range and a lot of us would gladly help you piece something together that'll make 'em laugh when you tell them what it is, then promptly shut them up after they hear it.
July 18, 200718 yr Author budget...would like to stay under 250 for sub...but will go up to and not over 300
July 18, 200718 yr forget the mag then..Look at the Soundsplinter RL-p, the Ascendant Audio Arsenal, the SSA Icon and perhaps the Fi Q.All would be excellent choices to consider.Forgive me for pushing our forum vendors on you lol. But they're probably the most suited towards your needs.
July 18, 200718 yr Author Forgive me for pushing our forum vendors on you lol. But they're probably the most suited towards your needs.Thats okay...I understand that youhave to sell your product...but I am glad im not really getting bashed over here...because when i post similar questions at caraduio.com...i get bashedThanks
July 18, 200718 yr Author Can those Arsenal's take more that 500 watts...thats what the specs said they were rated for? I would push them with about 700-900 watts
July 18, 200718 yr If you really want to be unique, I'd say go for the SSA ICON (check out the shop here)...you'll be one of the few people in the WORLD with one!
July 18, 200718 yr Can those Arsenal's take more that 500 watts...thats what the specs said they were rated for? I would push them with about 700-900 wattsWhy would you push them? Set your gains for the 500 watts and then push them up a little till you start to hear some distortion. then back them off. Keep in mind though, giving a sub over the RMS can lower the longevity of the sub and possibly void your warranty.
July 18, 200718 yr Go with the HDC315 when it comes out, or shop around for a used HD. I installed one a few months back, replaced 2 15" Rl-P's and it owned them in output, but SQ was not as tight, but fine for music in a daily driver. I'm now running 2 of the HD's and it does all that I want. Running a 15" FI Q in the GF's car and it's a nice sub, but not close to the output of the HD. And it's plenty unique as no one I've run across knows what they are, so I just tell em it's some flea market junk I picked up for cheap. Then they hear it and I laugh as their jaw hits the ground. LOL

LOLyeah...i was hit with a big loss today...A guy my father knows does bodywork and paint... he said he could paint my car for 2500...w/ no body work...and round 3gs w/ bodywork... but not to worry he's damn good...he did a truck in 1991...has been in about 20+ magazines and has won many awards so its worth it...but ill throw some cash to the side to get some subage!
