Posted July 18, 200718 yr i got a box that is 40x32x17 and trying to tune it to 32hz can someone help me find how big i need the port hole
July 18, 200718 yr We cannot recommend a port area without knowing what power and what drivers you are using. If you want the length that is another trick as well since you have to subtract the volume of the port from the box before the calculation. Of course if you are building an external port it is easier.
July 18, 200718 yr Author im going to put 4 15" db drive plat series powered by a massive audio d400x..trying to get the numbers for the port like how big and deep it suppose to be

July 19, 200718 yr We cannot recommend a port area without knowing what power and what drivers you are using. How does power change tuning? It doesn't change tuning but it does increase excursion, potentially requiring more cross sectional area, which will drop your Fb (tuning frequency).Let's try not to do the "I'll follow you to every thread and bitch" thing; both parties.
July 19, 200718 yr I'll assume a round port.I thought cross sectional area was determined by box volume? Because it changes the tuning.
July 19, 200718 yr A combination of cross sectional area and length of the port determines the tuning frequency. If you have a big arse box, but virtually zero excursion you don't need very much port area due to the fact that there will be little air movement in the box, and vice versa.
