ok..i got about 550-600 to spend on a woofer or woofers..looking for a nice street beating setup..2500 watts in hand..going into a 2dr jeep...help me out guys.. :horse:

18" btl...if you dont have around 7 cubes to spare....go with the 15"

He has a Jeep...

Not a chance he can fit 7 cubes.

If it's a soft top...I would get the Machaudio 12. Cheap and loud....

....though nothing will "get loud" in a jeep.

Spend your money on mids and highs.

lol, have you even considered the ramifications of your 2500 watts?

Like how your going to power the amp?

its a hard top...and i got 2 yellow tops and 200amp alt..

Looks like it.

"lol"

A hard top is better. Just get one 12(15). The new Mach5...or possibly a BTL.

because a mach5 is going to take anything near 2500 rms?? i'd say look into the dc sound labs group buy and try to get one of the level fours they have. there are a ton of subs that should be able to take that.

The SPL12 will take that and more.

Any of the manufacturers here will provide a product very satisfactory. For daily use with a single sub, the BTL or SPL12 seems quite appropriate.

anybody else?

might get 2 15" BLs..

unless the single 18" btl would be louder..lol

Havent u been asking this question for years?

yes indeed..

Been years since I have done a Jeep box. If I remember correct you can down fire (3)10s in a wedge box in the back sealed. (2)12s sealed might fit front firing, but I have no idea what the actual enclosure dims are anymore...15+ years since Ive done one and lots of speaker building fumes later...lol

I was thinking that you can really only get about 1.5 cuft out of it... which would be tough for a ported 12".

For something in the opposite direction of stealth... Pulling seats or folding will make a huge difference with the amount of sub that you can use. Although it is a hardtop they are usually fairly leaky and if you ever run without the top on, Id look at the system as a boat or convert setup. At that point, surface area is king. You simply arent going to get much cabin gain and reinforcement down ultra low, so Id focus on multiple larger driver sealed to increase output. With the seat removed, (4)15s sealed wouldnt be an issue to fit. Im sure there are quite a few solid 15 D2s or S4s that could be had in your price point... Same goes for higher numbers of 12s or (4)12s if the seats are folded.
