I have a 1996 Taurus and I am limited on trunk space. I dont think I will be able to fit 2 Maw-15's in a 6cuft^3 enclosure in my trunk. So I was wondering what sounded better.... 2 Maw-15's in a Sealed Enclosure or 2 Maw-12's in a Ported Enclosure. Thanks in Advance

They'll go deeper sealed.

In my case...w/ the 15s could i get just as good sq in a ported box...7cu ft. 3.5 per woofer,,,tuned to 30 hz?

To Madrox, if I am remembering correctly, I think a few people have gotten great results with the 15's in about 2.5 to 2.75 per. So you could try a smaller box ported and if it does not work switch to sealed.

To kingsham, you should be fine, but as for that size box, mrogowski would be the best POV on that size box.

Going to move this to the Mach5 section. ;)

How much total space can you afford to give up to subs?

I have a 96 Taurus also and a MAW-15, I think I can help. :)

I put it in a 3.1 cu. ft. box and it pretty much takes up the whole trunk. You probably can design a box to better fit it, but I dont think youre going to be able to fit a 6 cu. ft. box due to the fact itll have to be at least 16" high and pretty deep. But my one MAW-15 does an excellent job and is more than enough for what I need, and the box is tuned to 28 hz, so Im thinking one will be fine ported if you want to save some money.
