Posted July 29, 200718 yr Granted I've ran a lot of tc based product over the years so I'm pretty sure that the P's should handle the power but just wondering a couple of things. First whats the coil in it like winding length and layers if you don't mind and is that the tall profile surround on it? Just wondering because I may be picking up a pair in a couple of months.
August 12, 200718 yr The RL-p18 features the tall surround, with a 4 layer aluminum 3" diameter voicecoil, with a winding width of 1.6". Aiming for 1000 watts RMS is a smart idea for standard applications. If you're going SPL and looking to burp, you can certainly try two or three times that power but be careful because fried coils aren't covered under warranty!
